WOYWW 525

525 is that correct? How the weeks are flying by, they say it is a sign of old age.

This is our weather warning for today so I think it is going  to be a hot one also the UV is forecast at a very high 11. I cringe when I see the lobster holidaymakers walking around.

So to my desk someone asked me for a man card so this was the result and not to waste left over bits I made a smaller one with gardening tools in the pocket.
My left over bits of card box has overflowed and that also needs a bigger box. Hate throwing bits away.

The desk contains the normal bits and pieces. I am thinking of starting on the dreaded 'C' cards this week it helps when the weather is so hot!
Off now to Knit and Natter group only about six of us last week, many of our members go back to family in the UK for the summer - can't stand the heat. Some of us have to grin and bear it, not really you just change into summer mode and do jobs etc accordingly.

Now to link with  Julia our WOYWW host

Have a good week everyone.

WOYWW 524

Another week gone by don't think my feet have touched the ground. Talking of ground this blog links up with Julia at http://stamping-ground.blogspot.com/ where we all display our workdesks on Wednesdays.

Well to be truthful this week mine is Tuesday as won't have time in the morning for photographing and writing.

Not very exciting but all the equipment is there.

Now this second photograph is more exciting. I work in our local cancer charity shop when needed although owing to health reasons haven't been there for a few weeks. My friend said they had a large number of rubber stamps donated and was I interested, you bet I said and this is it, stamps, punches, cutters and rulers. Most of the stamps are Christmas themed but hey ho Christmas is just around the corner.

So I leave you with two photographs of the full moon appearing through the clouds this week.

Hope you all have a good week.

WOYWW 523

Hello friends, Gosh this is a busy week, just when I should be slowing down for the heat of the summer.

Firstly my live-in friend has his family here from the Czech Rep. although they are staying in an hotel, you still feel as you have to be with them. It is hard work for me because they only speak Czech no English or Spanish.

Heard about a new Chinese shop that had opened in the next village so had to go and explore. These are just a few goodies I purchased. Most of my embellishments etc come from our vast array of Chinese shops. The flowery headbands (1€) I cut the flowers off and use for decoration.

Wonder if anyone else is finding this happening? Last week I had to go and buy bigger plastic boxes that I store my different card, papers, etc. in. The reason I seem to be accumulating more stock. Mustn't be working fast enough that's all I can say as I am sure I haven't purchased any for ages.

Below are two snoods/cowls I knitted while watching tv in the evening. Thought the white one was a little short so the green in a little longer. Only takes one ball of chunky wool.
Must away I have a doctors appointment and then on to sewing group this morning.

PS the weather here is beautiful.

WOYWW 520 10th Anniversary

Good morning all on this special anniversary and  congratulations to Julia http://stamping-ground.blogspot.com/ who keeps us all in order.

Yes I am back and recovering slowly from my daughters wedding in Crete. Although I say it myself she looked absolutely beautiful and so happy. Their wedding theme was travel hence the cake, the favours were little suitcases, menus in passport holders, place names luggage labels etc. Even hangover bags containing coffee, rennies, mints, paracetamol (there were a few who needed them I can tell you.
This was the finished horseshoe with a difference I made them and it was greatly admired.

Now to my desk which is slowly becoming its usual untidy state, I came home to requests for a few special birthday cards so back to work. This is beginning of a seventieth one when inspiration strikes. The card on the left is a mixture of pattern and plain card I sometimes get on offer at our local Lidl.

Will try and visit all but Wednesdays are a little hectic for me so maybe later in the week. Have a good day.

WOYWW516

Good morning ladies, hope you all had a good Easter. Unfortunately here in Mojacar Easter was something of a washout. Yes rain and windy so didn't set foot outside the house, don't even know if the parades took place.
But I awake this morning to the sun (must be back from his Easter break in the UK) so possibly all the rain is now gone until after the summer. I never complain when it rains as we need rain here.

Now to my desk busy, busy, busy. The first is my computer table and the second the main table I work on. Swivelling between the two on my chair.

This is the working desk glueing, sticking  etc. No room for the cat she was very put out. The playing cards are from a charity shop, someone wanted a card for a bridge player. I work in a local charity shop one day a week and am always on the look out for old games jigsaws etc that I can use. Needs must when you can't just drop into Hobbycraft or similar.

The paper table each of the boxes contains paper, card, patterned paper etc. One box contains ribbons, tapes. The bag I won in a raffle thought it would be great for travelling with but with only taking a hand luggage case can't take it now.

Only another week until I jet off to Crete for my daughter's wedding, this next week is a week of pampering for me. Need all the treatment I can get.

Now to link up with Julia at http://stamping-ground.blogspot.com/ hope over to her site and read what it is all about.
Have a happy crafting week.

WOYWW 515

Good morning from a warm and sunny day Mojacar. The weather has been great but forecast not so good for the Easter parades etc.

Now to my desk/table the reason we are here. As you can see I am now back in card making mode. This was my table last night after nearly a week of work. Note the dog he loves to stand on the stairs and look out of the window. The black dangly thing on the right is my personal alarm I receive so many phone calls from people pretending to be Microsoft that now they get a blast from this.
On Monday a friend who has given up card making gave me an enormous carrier bag full of all sorts of goodies, from stickers, paper, card to heat gun, punches and cutters. It was like Christmas going through them all.

This is my amaryllis, this year only 4 flowers but someone who should be nameless cut all the leaves off earlier on in the year so I am lucky to have the flowers.

The Easter crowds are gathering fast as here in Spain the big religious parades start on Thursday. The photos below are from a previous year not easy getting the Virgin Mary out of church and even more difficult manoeuvring through the narrow streets of the village.

Hope you all have a good Easter break see you next week God willing.

WOYWW 514

Hi Guys I'm back. Still not 100% but getting there, I have to go to have my BP checked once a week and it is still on the high side, but hey ho summer is coming and I am looking forward to going to Crete in a few weeks time to my daughter's wedding. All outfit complete now just have to get it packed into hand luggage. I did buy a chiffon dress for this reason. Think I am going to look like Mrs Michelin getting on the plane.

Now for the reason we are here, my desk, well not much happening over the last few weeks. I thought I would go through my wool stash managed to take it all out but then ran out of energy so on the table it has stayed for the past week.

I have done some knitting and completed blankets for various charities. Love this one they call it the Jordan blanket.

I have been trying to make a wedding heart (on the lines of a horseshoe) thought it would be something different. My daughter is English and her husband to be is Scottish and the theme of the wedding is travel. (Don't ask since when have weddings had themes)

So that is me for this week hope your week ahead is full of crafting.

WOYWW 508

Good morning ladies.
Firstly I apologise for not commenting on posts last week I did read most of them while passing my time in the nurses/doctors surgery.  I have had to go each day to have my BP read as it was extremely high. How I hate those horrid little tablets that go under your tongue. Off there again this morning first the nurse then the doctor.

So here is my table not very interesting. I have managed to finish a blanket to be sent to charity and have started another one. I am trying to use some of the stash of wool you saw last week in my workroom.
Had a little laugh last night when watching Call the Cleaners, a lady on there had a house full of crafting items and she made the cleaners put in all in boxes so they could clean the house then put the boxes back.
Also on the table my box of made cards that I take to various meetings, a pack of cards along with some old books that I got from our local charity shop they make good backing papers. The spirit is willing but the flesh in weak as they say. I have made my grandson a birthday card but can't show - 14 years old where did the years go?

So that is my desk, I am going to call into my sewing group this morning for an hour, need to see something other than white coats.

WOYWW 507

Hi there, sort of wasn't going to blog today because the table is just the same as the last couple of weeks. Little or no work done owing to hospital and doctors visits, (have to go again this morning - high blood pressure, is it any wonder with what I have been through these last couple of weeks).
Helen gave me an idea as she posted a photo of her overflowing room and challenged anyone else to, so here goes. Hang on while I go and grab the camera.

Yes plastic buckets of wool - my 2019 resolution to use some of it for charity knits. Christmas material still on the sewing machine starting early for Christmas 2019 well that's my excuse!

The second photo wool, wool and more wool, and a cupboard of stationery and other crafty bits, the other side has material in. Top cupboard is toy filling hanging out.

So there Helen you dared me and I obliged. Funny thing I thought about this room last night whilst watching a extreme cleaning programme on TV but mine has no cat p... or dead mice/rats in there I assure you.

So that's mine for this week now to link with Julia http://stamping-ground.blogspot.com/

who hosts this worldwide get together. Have a good week.

WOYWW 506

Welcome to WOYWW (What's on your Workdesk Wednesday). As you can see from the photo taken a few minutes ago nothing much has changed since last week.

I have had dentist, doctors visits and a hospital procedure this last week, so have had no time for crafting as I have been sleeping  when returning home. Only another doctors appointment to go this morning and hopefully I will be back to A1.

The box in the centre of the photo is a new edition (I think) it contains all the balls of wool stood upright with the tail ends uppermost so I don't have to take the wool out when I am crocheting the blanket. Also when I close the lid it is cat and dog proof!

I did manage a trip out yesterday and went with a group of friends to a new shopping centre that opened just before Christmas. Nothing exciting as with all the shopping centres in Spain it only contains fashion shops from all the big names. They are the only ones that can afford the rents. This one did have a large Primark normally I don't find anything in their stores for me (apart from the knickers) but yesterday nearly all the stock was new in ready for the Spring and I came away with two of their big bags full. It was good to go with female friends and have a laugh and lunch out.

So that is me for this week, off for an hours knit and natter gossip but my appointment, will be back later to read and comment if Google will let me. Have a good week and now to link with Julia our leader http://stamping-ground.blogspot.com/

WOYWW 505

Good morning ladies.
Thought you might like to see my desk (yes I am in working mode again) as it is every night before I go to bed. I have to put everything I am working on as high up as possible. Why because of one big puppy who when bored will go in search of mischief. As you can see he stands as high as the table. Him and the 14 year old cat join forces she knocking things off and him running with it.

So on my table I have my blanket/wool that I have been crocheting for at least a couple of years. This was put to one side in the heat of the summer and never brought out again. (Sort of 2019 resolution finish as many unfinished items as possible and use up some wool stash.
Then there is the cricut create that a friend has lent me to play with unfortunately the needle needs replacing so hasn't been very successful. Would love a scan and cut any pros and cons about this machine.
Then of course the usual card making equipment. Trying to make some Easter cards.

Note the chair in the background this was my Christmas present to self - a new electric relaxer chair, but of course having animals every night I have to cover it to stop the cat scratching the leather and a small up turned table placed on top to stop the dog sleeping on it. The dog doesn't go on the chairs normally but at night he thinks it is ok to do so.

So that is my nightly and morning routine, cover up and uncover.
Ok now to link up with all the WOYWW crowd via Julia's page at
http://stamping-ground.blogspot.com/ Nip over and see what it is all about.

WOYWW 504

Apologises AWOL last week although I did manage a few comments and even more visits.
Well the crafting mode has returned, people asking for valentine  and Easter cards so one has to oblige doesn't one? Then an order for another dart board card.

I haven't been idle over the weeks since Christmas though and have kept up with the knitting of new born hats, blankets etc. for a Gift of Warmth.

This will only be a short one today I was late getting up as the wind was howling outside and I was nice and cosy in my bed. Now I have to leave in 15 minutes for my knit and natter group. It is surprising how the weather changes from day to day here, yesterday I sat outside knitting and the sunrise looked like this.
Today no sun and extremely windy.
Tomorrow I have to venture inland again to the dentist hopefully for the last work on my teeth. I have a feeling I will see snow on the far mountains there.
Now to link with http://stamping-ground.blogspot.com/ for our round the world WOYWW. Have a good week all.

WOYWW 502

Well from no 1 on week 500 to a very late posting this week. Good excuse my car broke yesterday so waiting for the breakdown truck and having to hire a car for a week. I cannot manage without a car in this area of Spain. Had a 75km round trip just to the dentist yesterday and have to go again this afternoon. Help root canal filling.

My desk still hasn't appeared from before Christmas I have certainly lost the mojo. Although I have been knitting a few bits and pieces sat in front of the fire watching TV.
Will be making a start on some ventilator hats for new  borns this evening. A UK charity is desperate for some.
Short and sweet today as I have to go and prepare for the dentist visit. No looking forward to it.
Will be around later if I feel up to it. So now to link with Julia our host at http://stamping-ground.blogspot.com/

WOYWW 501

Well that's the 500 milestone passed and as we make our way to 600,700, 800, 900 and then the very very big one! If you want to know what I am talking about then follow this link to Julia at http://stamping-ground.blogspot.com/ and you can read all about it.

Still no work desk set up for me, well I have a small excuse the weekend was still holiday here, Epiphany, and with it falling on Sunday of course Monday was a holiday also. Along with that I developed toothache so had to wait til yesterday to see the dentist, who has referred me to a specialist. Why does toothache always give me earache and make me feel rotten?

I have managed a little knitting, the red jumper I finished before Christmas had developed long and baggy sleeves so I cut them down then picked up stitches did some decreasing and reknitted the rib. I remember my mum always knitting sleeves from the top down, lot easier to alter when needed. I am also finishing a few knitted items I started and threw to one side in favour of other crafting. No it isn't my new years resolution to finish these items.

I went into the garden yesterday to pick some fruit for my sewing group members and came across this lemon it looked rather like a jesters hat but now I've photographed it, looks rather rude. There probably isn't much fruit in it. Don't think it would pass for British supermarkets.

I have oranges, lemons and pink grapefruit but they all mature at the same time so I give most of them away.

That is me for this morning, off now to sewing/knit and natter, we have a new venue today as our old one is closed for two months for refurbishment. Wonder if they will have us back when it is all posh?

Will be around hopefully before the weekend to read all your posts, but I can only reply from my desk top as my fingers are too fat for phone and kindle keypads!

WOYWW 500

Congratulations to Julia our host on the 500 edition of WOYWW.

Hope you all have enjoyed your Christmas and New Year celebrations. Here in Spain we still have one more celebration to go  the 5th and 6th, which is Epiphany or Three Kings. Spanish children will receive most of their presents on the night of the 5th and there are some fantastic parades on this evening, when the Three Kings arrive by boat and are driven on floats through the town throwing sweets to the children.

Ok now to my desk, my computer desk actually that you saw all tidy from last week well it is still tidy as no work has been done since before Christmas.
Work will have to start on Monday though as Valentine and Easter are approaching and cards will be needed.

Here is a photo from the New Year's day dip in the sea, The mad British have been doing this for 4 years and the money raised goes to the local dog rescue centre.

Well that's me for today, hopefully I will have a more productive desk to show you next week.

WOYWW 499

Good Morning hope you all had a good Christmas.

Sorry I couldn't post last week as was without phone and internet for 48 hours. Have to laugh really an electricity joint underground exploded was repaired then water got into the box so waterboard had to repair, then the next thing we know is the fibre optic is all down in my area, now I am not saying anything but .....

I must show this picture of my computer desk this is probably the one and only time it will look like this. The monitor was my Christmas present so before installing I cleaned all the desk. Even the cat jumped up and decided she better not sit there.

My other table that I work from has been put away for Christmas to make room to eat Christmas dinner, which we have Christmas eve here in Spain. After dinner we give the presents out.

I woke up Christmas day to this sunrise and later walked the dog along the paseo in the sun. A lovely relaxing Christmas Day.

So all is back to normal this morning Spanish don't have Boxing Day so the next celebration will be New Year then 5/6th Jan Three Kings.

I wish you all a Happy 2019 and all that is left to do now is joint Julia at http://stamping-ground.blogspot.com/

WOYWW 497

Good morning and a little early it is. Went to bed at 9.30 last night and of course woke at 3.45 and cannot get back to sleep.

Time to relax a little before the big day not that I celebrate over the top. Here in Spain the big meal is Christmas eve and Christmas day is more like our Boxing day, the 26th is back to work, until New Year, then back to work again and more celebrating 5th/6th January when the children receive their gifts from the Three Kings.

I completed the last of my three Christmas fairs on Saturday not quite as successful as the other two but then I didn't have the same amount of stock.

My table at 4.30 this morning is this - not very exciting. just a few unsewn felt decorations. I managed to get some adhesive numbers for the advent calendars but they will have to wait until next year now. The box on the left contains all that remains of my Christmas cards and the box on the right contains my everyday cards that I took with me last Saturday to boost the stock a little. By the weekend all will be packed away for another year. Christmas materials that is.
Then after a little cleaning I will be ready to put my tree and other decorations up.

I was sat on my terrace the other night and the colours of the sky were beautiful when the last fishing boat came slowly across making its way home into the fishing port of Garrucha. These fishermen spend a 12 hour day on the water, I am usually woken up at 6.00am when they all leave the port chugging away with full lights across the dark Med. I think it is a dying occupation as they aren't as many as 20 years ago.

Well that is me for today, off to make a coffee. Later today the sewing/knitting group have our Christmas lunch so something to look forward to. This will be my only Christmas lunch this year as the other groups I belong to have decided to have Three Kings Luncheons in January as so many people go back to the UK for Christmas.

Will leave you with this.

WOYWW 496

Good morning one and all, have only one thing to shout out today and that is HELP.

This is my work station last night I don't know where to start after an extremely successful fair on Saturday, and having another one booked for this Saturday. I can't decide what to make first. Decided on some small triangles in red and green felt to make a small banner, then it will be on to some adult aprons in Christmas material.

The box in the left corner is my friends Cricut Create that I have been trying out, she thought it might cut felt but unfortunately no. The box near my cutter has all that is left of my Christmas cards after making over 150 of them.

So that is it for this week now to collect the triangles up and take them with me to my sewing/knitting group this morning.

I will be around to visit but maybe not until after Saturday, there are some sites I just cannot comment on wonder if it because I live in Spain, any ideas please.

WOWYW 495

Woke this morning and found I have no water (nothing new here in Mojacar I always keep 5lt bottles in stock) apparently none along the playa so must be a big burst somewhere.
So my table for this week is not a work station the table is back in position after being used for the fair last Saturday and on it are a few replacement aprons and some more Christmas ones cut and ready for sewing. The card on the right is from a mornings crafting with a friend, she has so many cutting machines and dies she asked me to go and try them. Really enjoyed playing with them all.

I had a successful fair and the sun shone (well it does on the righteous) this was the view from behind by stall just after setting up at 8.00am (That's our ass. priest walking by).

So on to my next fair on Saturday, indoors this time, with carols and the school band, absolutely love the Spanish bands so different from the British ones.

Hope you all have a good week.
