WOYWW

Wow where has today gone only just managed to take this and write up the blog. Wednesday is a busy day for me - sewing circle in the morning home for quick lunch then to the ladies meeting group in the afternoon. Only just got round to taking a photo of my desk (table) at 10.35pm but it is still Wednesday.

On there tonight are my blanket squares, awaiting joining have been trying to master the flat braid method of joining. Also top right hand corner two cards, one I made for my friend who adores cats but this then went as an emergency swimming group card for her so a quick tape and butterfly card was made from me as I couldn't find another one suitable in my stash.

I think summer is coming the temperature has been in the high 20's today, time to bring out the sun tan cream me thinks. Hope the weather continues as my daughter is coming to stay next week, paying an early visit this year so I don't think the sea will be warm enough for a swim but knowing her she will try it. Brrrh

Off to my bed now.
Thanks for visiting

WOYWW 3

Ok no picture of my desk this week as I haven't been in the house much so no work in progress. This is a picture of our sewing class table taken today. Although it is called sewing I think it is mostly wool craft - knitting and crocheting. There are two ladies sewing one doing cross stitch and the other embroidery. We meet once a week in a comfortable bar where we are made very welcome. Come the summer months and will be outside facing the sea.

I love looking at the WOYWW blog reports and smile to myself at the photos of the workrooms, are any crafters really tidy? I think not. One thing I always make sure of is that my chairs are free of clutter, so I can always sit down to do some work. This is a photo of my store room I don't work in here for obvious reasons. One day, one day it will be tidy I promise you.

Off now to link up and hope I get it right this week. Have a good week and see you next Wednesday.

WOYWW 2

This is what is on my desk this week, well my computer desk - my lovely cat QC, since the death of my lab/pointer cross Morse last year she is never far from my side.

Seeing as I have no work desk to show this week thought perhaps you would like to see work around my chair. I always have some knitting or crocheting on the go for when I sit down. Note my cat in the bottom right corner waiting for me to take my seat.

I am beginning to prepare for my daughter's visit so step one is the garden. This week the jasmine had a re-pot and the day after I took this photo it was nearly in full flower. We have had some very sunny days this past week with temperatures in the mid 20's. The other picture is a member of the 'bottle brush' family I saw it when I was in the garden centre and liked the gold tips on the flowers so treated myself to this one and also a  violet coloured one.

This morning I was at the sewing circle and wondered about taking a picture of the table there, but seeing it was full of coffee cups and glasses and not much in the way of crafts will leave it for another Wednesday when more of our work is on view.

WOYWW

As a newbie  to this blogging link up I don't know if this is correct or not but here goes.
Two desks photos first is my wool table which consists of my learning to crochet and also tapestry wools which I use to make 'A cross in your Pocket'.
These you can just see in the plastic box top right. I have about 20 to make for this Sunday and have done only 3 so far.

The second photo is my card making desk (well pasting table) had to quickly make two cards so thought these with decorated tape would be quickest.

I haven't actually got a crafting desk have to put a table up when I want to craft. Perhaps this is a good idea as it means I have to clear it away every Friday, if I had a permanent desk I would not be able to see the surface!
Now to publish and link up. Haha.

Sunny Easter
The weather this Easter has been lovely, much warmth and sunshine.  A little different from previous years.
We went up to the village Good Friday to see the procession. I haven't seen an Easter procession for years always being involved with church does make it difficult.
Here are a few photos I took. The first is the float being carried out of church and down the steps, the second shows how the float just fits through the village streets.

These floats are carried round the village down and back up a very steep hill.
Our village procession was only on a small scale the bigger towns providing more decorative and much larger statues.

This is a photo of my two cats they often lie upside down together on the chair but this morning I caught them both face forward. It's hard to believe they are brother and sister.  Kavvie is long haired and QC short haired, when they were kittens they were nearly identical. They are nearly always together and if they aren't both in at night they meow for one another. I remember once when QC had to spend the night at the vets, it was a long noisy night as Kavvie walked round the house meowing for her.

I have been trying to teach myself to crochet these past two weeks and completed the first blanket this week, nothing fancy but someone may be glad of it to keep a little one warm.
I am now hoping to crochet a colourful granny stripe blanket for my bed. Watch this space.

Tuesday was the 'flutterkickers' lunch, we are a group who meet twice a week in the summer months to do some swimming and mouth exercises in the pool! During the winter months and to keep the group together we have a lunch the last Tuesday in the month.

Wednesday is 'my' day - sewing group in the morning, I have just recently rejoined this group after many years absence and am really enjoying their company. Then in the afternoon I go to the WOW ( women on Wednesday) an open group any lady can come along to. No rules just a good natter and liquid refreshment, If you want to sell things you can, anything from cakes etc, clothes, books whatever you want to get rid of! There is sometimes a nail beautician there as well as a lady who reads the cards and we have a small raffle and donate the proceeds to a local charity. Anything goes within reason!

Gosh it is the fourth month where have they gone. I love these early months of April, May and June with the light evenings and warm days, look on it as my Mojacar before the tourists start to come and take over all the parking spaces and everywhere is busy and noisy.
