WOYWW 604 30th December 2020

Good morning all from a cold and very windy Spain but obviously not as cold and snowy as the UK.

So we are gathered on our last WOYWW of 2020. Thank you for all your friendship over this difficult past year where I think isolation, boredom and loneliness have been problems for many.

So what's on my desk today well not much as crafting still isn't on the agenda until after 3 Kings. So my little desk/table has the jigsaw still not finished all the animals are done now for the jungle pieces. Watch this space as I reckon it will be finished next week.

And for my little bit of crafting 50 of my 108 needed squares for the blanket for the bed. So easy to do when watching television. Although I admit I thought television wasn't exciting over Christmas.
I am off to my knitting/sewing group this morning the first time I have been out since Christmas Eve.

On the rib front I noticed yesterday that the pain has gone so hopefully all healed now. It was 6 weeks ago Barney knocked me off my feet.

Now to meet up with Julia at https://stamping-ground.blogspot.com/ and I wish you all A Happy New Year with the promise of better things to come.

xx

  4. Six weeks already! Blimey. Mind you, when you have rib pain, I bet you’ve noticed almost every day of those weeks. Sitting up straight and breathing in and out never felt like an accomplishment before! Very glad you think you may be over it. Sounds as if that blanket will be a useful addition to the bed; I hope there’s some sunshine soon, at least it will take the edge of the dratted wind. I haven’t done a puzzle over this holiday, most unusually, but then, I’ve done far more over the last six months than I ever would do, so I guess that there’s nothing unusual left! Have a good session at knitting group, will be nice to step out and refresh!

  5. Glad to hear you are feeling better now and that the only jigging you have done is a jigsaw.
Here's to a better year ahead than the one we have just had. Keep blogging and stay safe, happy and well.

  6. Six weeks of pain! Oh my! Let's hope the New Year brings less of that and more mobility (and better TV LOL!) Your blankie is coming along nicely and it will be fun to see the finished product. Enjoy your jigsaw and
    Happy (almost) 2021!

  7. I am glad your pain is better. I wish I had room to do jigsaws, only there is no space at all here (hmm perhaps 2021 should finally be the year to do something about that!) Wishing you a happy and healthy 2021 Helen #5

  8. I jolly glad that the rib pain has eased as that must have been awful for six weeks, tell that Barney dog that he’s gorgeous but no more tripping up, please! Great knitting squares that are going to make a fab blanket, it is amazing what you can make whilst watching telly - I have to own up that I prefer crocheting blankets these days just cos they grow quicker!
    Hugs and Happy New Year.

  9. My husband is the jigsaw person in our house, Dolly keeps stealing pieces when he is not looking. Some I have been able to save, but you have to be quick! Wishing you a happy and healthy new year Angela #14

  10. Ani, I LOVE jigsaw puzzles! I need to pick a new one up! Can't wait to see it finished.....as well as your blanket!! 108 squares sounds daunting, but I know will be worth it in the end! I love to knit, I still have a blanket that I have yet to finish! I need to get a move on!!! LOL I don't have TV for that very reason, but I do have Netflix and even on there it seems there tends to be nothing to watch! Another reason I should be on that blanket! LOL I pray your new year is FULL of good health!! Blessings, Felicia #31

So glad your pain is easing, nothing worse wthan when you're never quite sure why it hurts for so long. Stay safe, just heard we're all in tier 4 now...and some are in tier 5!Happy WOYWW and keep knitting! And a very Happy New Year!

  12. Hi Ani, oh dear, I really feel for you - sore ribs for 6 weeks! I know how painful that can be. Glad to hear you are on the mend. I own 2 jigsaws. I've had them for years. One is still wrapped in cellophane and the other I have started twice, and given up. Maybe 2021 will be the year I finally finish it (or not). I can't comment on Christmas TV as I don't really watch it much, just the odd movie that Mr M puts on. Looking forward to seeing the finished blanket. Have a lovely week, and a great New Year, hugs Heather xx #30

  14. Lots of blanket squares made, Ani! I've still got a lot to make, too. It's nice doing it in front of the TV, isn't it. This year's Christmas offerings on mainstream TV were total rubbish (apart from the Queen, of course) and I rarely watch now - I have found some real quality documentaries on Amazon Prime and am enjoying those.

Happy New Year and happy WOYWW,

  15. Oh, I love a good jigsaw and that one looks interesting. I agree with you, television has been disappointing this year and I don't think I'll ever get used to seeing people isolating on my small screen. Your blanket squares are lovely. Hope your pain continues to ease. Happy New Year. Elizabeth x #32
