WOYWW 600

WOYWW celebrates is 600 edition.

Thank you Julia for this special blog page, since finding you it has felt like belonging to a worldwide family of crafters. You have been there for me during the happy and unhappy events in my life.

Unfortunately there is nothing on my workdesk today as I have tidied the desk/table up in readiness to start downsizing my wool stash.

When the wool stock is done, then I make a start on material. Then probably my card stash especially all the cut offs. I am unable to throw away any bits I cut off when making cards and my boxes are growing bigger and bigger.

I suppose the same can be said for all my craft stuff, I am possibly what some people may called 'A Hoarder'. I just say I haven't got the opportunity to nip into my local craft store because I haven't got one!

So I say watch these tables in the coming weeks.

I wish Julia stamping-ground.blogspot.com a very happy day and thank you for all you and your assistants do.

Hopefully I will connect on Zoom if I can figure out how to use it but don't hold your breath as during the week I managed to send Google Crome into the unknown depths of my desktop.

  2. Good luck with all that sorting Ann. I have to cull my card bit box occasionally too or I wouldn't fit in the shed. Happy 600th WOYWW. Sarah #5

  4. So that is how you get a tidy desk - thanks for the information - maybe now I know I can start to tidy up a bit. Seriously, it is good to see you getting yourself all tidied up.
I do hope you can get yourself sorted on Zoom. I've done it before so am hoping I can do it again. All being well will see you Saturday.

  6. I am totally with you on the scraps front, I find it SO hard to throw anything away which is probably the reason why my workspace is such a disaster area!
Congrats to Julia and Happy WOYWW 600

  13. My word, a desk surface like that is a rare sight! I understand the need to get a grip on the wool stash...I emptied a box in the attic room yesterday, thinking it was decorations. It was full of yarn from a long discarded project. Oh my conscience. So....good luck with your next mission. Hope the ribs are easing daily, definitely not a good idea to be stamping and card making yet..all that watching and stretching.ugh. zoom really is easy, download the app, zoom.us, enable audio and camera and on Friday I’ll publish the meeting code. You punch in that code and that’s it. It would be great to see you, really would.

  14. Hi Ani, happy Big 6-0-0!! wow! that IS a tidy desk! I've been having a huge cull as well, which feels good, but my room is still stuffed to the gills :) I feel the same about the Zoom thing, but hopefully see you on Saturday xOx Annie C #35

  15. Ani, what a desktop indeed!! But I think we could all do with destashing at the end of the year!! Great idea!! And, for the record, I think it's an inherent crafters trait to be hoarders! LOLOL You've got me stirred up now and wanting to rummage and clean up!! Blessings to you, Felicia, #39

  16. Hi, Ani,
You and I are kindred spirits! I have bags and boxes of scraps. I am committed to getting rid of all of it before the end of the year. Rather than going through it (I usually end up keeping more than I trash) I am simply going to drop it all into a large garbage bag and take it to the recycling bin! Good luck!

  17. It's good to have a clear out now and again - although I prefer to think of it as 'stock taking'. Hope you can be there Sat, I shall certainly try. It's been lovely getting to know you!! Happy 600th WOYWW, have a good week, stay well stay safe, Cindy xx #30

  18. Hi Ani, I would say I think all crafters are hoarders, and now I have taught myself to crochet, I will be hoarding yarn too! Your desk is an inspiration to get cracking before the end of the year, and start clearing and cleaning. Watch this space lol. Happy 600th WOYWW and have a lovely week, Heather xx #25

  20. Hi Ani, happy 600th! Your desk is impressively empty but I hope it's covered in crafty goodies soon. I'd say most of us crafter's are hoarders - I know I certainly am and I'm not ashamed to say so. Enjoy the crop on Saturday if you do manage the Zoom thing. Elizabeth x #36

  22. That's just how I like my desk to be! Hope you enjoy all that sorting, I find it very cathartic - but I have to get rid of the unwanted stuff very quickly or I start re-claiming it from the charity bags bit by bit!

  24. Wow, such a clear space! I must admit, the thought of downsizing my craft stash makes me hyperventilate. What are you planning on doing with the stash you're getting rid of? Last time I managed to part with yarn (sob) I gifted it to a local yarn group.

    Happy WOYWW 600!

  25. You are undertaking a huge job, I find it so hard to get rid of things and nearly always wish I hadn’t several years down the line. I got rid of a lot of wool last year and ending up buying some last week! There is a point thought where you simply have to get rid of something or you can’t fit anything else in the craft room. I took a good look at my stash and donated several bags to the Salvation Army last year. Happy 600th WOYWW Angela #42

  26. Wow - a completely empty desk, Ani! Hope you get on with your stash-busting exercise. I don't really want to get rid of my wool or fabric stashes but they do need better organising. My room is in the worst state it's ever been and it needs a really serious blitz on it.

    Happy WOYWW 600,

  27. Wow, I don’t know if I’d dare get rid of my wool; what if I need it for something? My husband would be glad though. Enjoy your clear out and I hope you make the zoom crop tomorrow
