WOYWW 900

 

Wow it is lovely to be joining you again on this great day. Congratulations to the person who had the idea of this fantastic site and all who have contributed week in week out.

I have looked back and my first post was 6^th April 2016.

I haven´t been well over the past 18 months but read WOYWW every Wednesday and haven´t joined you because all my get up and go has gone. I have tried knitting, crocheting, but apart from one crocheted blanket have had nothing on my work desk. I don´t even have a work desk any more as all my crafty things are downstairs, and I now live upstairs.

Last week I got someone to bring my portable sewing machine upstairs so I could put some new ruffle on my curtains. Oh, the excitement, it did take me over ten minutes to thread the needle even with the help of a needle threader! (I am still waiting for my 2^nd cataract op).

I have never met any of you and probably never will as I live in Spain and never return to the UK anymore. The nearest I have been to you all was when (during covid I think) a zoom meeting was arranged instead of a crop. It was great to put faces to names.

I still have the ATC cards traded during the years, no photo though as they are pinned up in my sewing room downstairs and that is out of bounds to me. By order of my daughter I am not allowed downstairs! My treasured gift was from Jan and it is used nearly every day, not sure of its age now. Thank you Jan.

So a happy 900 edition, congratulations to all and here´s to the 1000 in the year 2028! If my maths serves me correctly. Gosh that will be one big celebration.

Yes it´s me again. Thought I was progressing healthwise but it is a case of one step forward and two steps back at the moment. At least I am driving again although only round our local town, but it is giving me some freedom. 

It is also going very slowly craftwise but I have started knitting again, only small knitted toys like octopuses (must admit I had to look up the plural) and some angels.  I have not gone back to my sewing group as it has been so cold and damp here and the bar where we meet has no heating. I have heard another craft group that meets in a hotel so when I am free on a Friday think I will pay them a visit. It will certainly be warmer inside the hotel.

I am now limited on space as I have moved upstairs in my house, it makes it easier for me to get around with my walker. So this is the only table I have available to me. A glass topped coffee table. Yes, that´s Barney he is still with me, I now call him my assistance dog as he has done so much for me. We  make a good team.

 Hello everyone.

I have no photos of any work to show you as I don´t seem to be able to motivate myself into handicraft mode. 

I have been in hospital again after my blood tests showed iron and haemoglobin levels were low.  I must admit the treatment I have received has been first class. I am now under  kidney, cardiologist and haematologist specialists. 

I read your contributions every week so am keeping my eye on you all. Hopefully I will feel better in the new year and able to join in with WOYWW.

So I wish you all and a Very Happy Christmas and a Healthy New Year.

WOYWW 850 17th September

 I am having an at home day today and am supposed to be resting but it is not gòing to plan. Wibbly wobby knees when I stand up, that´s what happend when I broke my leg and I certainly don´t want to go down that road again.

I have no craft items to show as I haven´t been allowed downstairs into my craft room. But watch this space once I get started.

WOYWW 10th September

 Another sunny day here in Mojacar and I am slowly getting used to my new living quarters. My daughter came last Saturday and filled my freezer with goodies like Jamie Oliver fish cakes, Roast leg of lamb  complete with roast potatoes and a very tasty gravy. All I have at the moment for cooking is an airfryer, microwave, toaster and kettle.  

As far as handycraft materials I have finished the blanket corner to corner, but how to take a photo of it on my new laptop I do not know. All my wool, card making material etc is downstairs - where I am not allowed to venture on my own. 

Took photo on my `phone and by magic it appeared on here!

WOYWW 29th August

 Yes I´m back for the second time trying to write this blog on a new laptop, HELP I´ve already lost the first few paragraphs.

Well as I was saying I am now out of that ghastly nursing home, and at my daughters until Friday when I shall go home to my dear old Barney. I´v seen him a few times but have missed him so much.

Thank you for all your get well wishes and also birthday wishes yes I have been in there nearly 3 months missed all the summer and the very hot wearher we have been having. It topped over 40 on Sunday and we had a fire the other side of the valley, fortunately the fire service along with the helicopters were in  attendance very quickly.

I have no work desk to show you but have been doing a little knitting while in the home. Only charity blankets something that didn´t need concentrating on.

I have kept up with  you all most weeks but only on my phone and having fat fingers couldn´t comment.

So sorry I haven't been with you for months but after having flu vaccine I was really ill with flu, from there they  discovered I had a heart condition, and was immediately sent to hospital where I was fitted with a stent. Since then I have had nothing but trouble. I collapsed in a local hotel and was rushed to hospital. I am now back home waiting to start lots of other tests including a24 monitor aft Easter.

I have none no crafting just haven't the energy, well I have some wool on needles knitting baby blanket.

Lovely to be back with you I am getting sick of seeing the same 4 walls even though I have the view of the sea. I  can only go out with someone is available to take me as very unsteady of my feet.
