It's been a little hot this week and news is it is going to get hotter.
Nothing much going on deskwise this week but I have put my other table back up as some friends wanted some masks. I made myself a couple out of broderie anglaise material as I thought lighter material would be easier to breathe through and they are, so am making some for my friends now.
The Christmas stockings are the beginning of some Advent calendars, still hoping that the Christmas fairs go ahead. That seems to be the extent of my work this week, not very exciting. Pattern for masks cut from corn flake box, far right old bread board I use for crafting and an ironing board with an old tea towel on top and my little travel iron always good for crafting purposes.
After my visit to the doctors last week I had an ECG on Friday and then saw the doctor again on Monday only to be told I have a blockage in one of my electric branches (whatever that means). I now have to have a full blood test, so watch this space. At least I know why I have been so breathless recently.
That's me for this week will try and link up with Julia at https://stamping-ground.blogspot.com/ before I leave for my sewing group and save the hassle of getting it wrong again.
ooh, I hope your branches are ok! the little stockings look lovely; I hope your Christmas fair is able to go ahead later. Helen #4
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed for good news on your branches!
ReplyDeleteLove those little stockings - and like the idea of the broderie anglais masks. I am still waiting for some different fabric to arrive so I have kept away from the sewing machine!

Phew, 39 degrees, that is hot! I must say that neat pile of cute stockings gave me a bit of a jolt this morning! Great idea with the Broderie masks. I do find myself breathing through my mouth when I wear a mask and have to remind myself that it’s not necessary, I think it’s a natural reaction to covering my face. My mask is made of a stretchy t shirt type material and is not uncomfortable, I need to wear it more to get used to it really!
ReplyDeleteBlooming heck, that's a bit too hot for me Ann. Hope they get to the bottom of your 'electrical' problem soon. Does working on Christmas stuff help you feel cooler lol? Stay safe and happy WOYWW. Sarah #10
ReplyDeleteHot ??? I can’t believe it, we’ve had nothing but rain and last night we had the central heating on. Can you send some of your weather over to your old stomping ground please

I've never heard of electric branches in the heart before - hope the full blood test doesn't take too long and you're not too breathless either. I always use cereal box cardboard for templates too, easy to cut but sturdy enough for the task!

Just thinking of my own problem I wonder if you need something like a pacemaker fitted? Nothing to worry about if you do it is quite a simple operation (says me waiting for a new one and worrying). I don't suppose the heat helps with the breathing. Good luck with the blood test and the mask making.

Glad you now know what the issue is so, it can be fixed - scary not knowing (((hug))) Hope the blood test goes well. The Christmas stockings are so cute.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely week. Soojay #18
Morning Ani. Oh my - that would be WAY too hot for a copperhead like me!! Hope you feel good in the heat!! Glad the Dr knows what the matter is - even if you don't yet know what electric branches are... sounds a bit like a Christmas tree. What lovely little stockings for your advent calendars - well done!
ReplyDeleteTake care. God bless.

Oh I do hope they can get you sorted and that you are feeling on top form soon. I did chuckle at the thought of making Christmas stuff - my activities usually start round the end of November!! xxx Jo
ReplyDeleteHi Ani, I so agree about the masks. I really struggle to breath through the normal ones, having COPD. Getting some thinner face coverings myself. Hope the test gets you some good results. I also find it much harder to breathe in hot temperatures, so that could also be part of your breathing problem. I was told by COPD nurses that some patients do better in warm weather, others in cold. Stay safe, Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #7 X
ReplyDeleteHere in Texas wearing a mask not only makes it hard to breathe but the mask is so hot and it is about the same temperature it is in Spain. In fact we have not had rain in weeks and it feels like it is turning into a dessert.
ReplyDeleteHI Ani, I feel for your in that heat, I go totally limp and floppy in hot weather, good for you soldiering on with making Christmas goodies - like you I have everythign crossed the Christmas craft fairs will go ahead as I have 4 huge crates of stuff ready to go! Fingers crossed :) Annie C #19
ReplyDeleteI love the advent stockings and the masks. I wish we were a little warmer here but I am still swimming anyway! Happy WOYWW. Take care and stay safe. With love & God Bless, Caro xxx (#8)
ReplyDeleteStay cool.
ReplyDeleteIt's probably a good idea to start Christmas projects now, I keep telling myself this and I did start something but then got distracted but sure I'll get back to it soon. Sounds a bit warm where you are and electric branches, interesting what ever they are. Have a lovely crafty woyww, Angela x14x
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW day!
ReplyDeleteThe broderie anglaise masks sound like they're pretty. Can't believe you're working on Christmas stuff!
Oh my goodness that WAY TOO HOT.
ReplyDeleteI'm having enough trouble here in the UK LOL

Sorry it's so hot where you are, Ani. It sounds as if you've been diagnosed with left bundle branch block. I have had this for many years - it's a fault with the very specialised fibres in the heart that are unique in the body, known as Purkinje fibres - a sort of combination of nerve and muscle fibres. They regulate the heart muscle fibres so that they contract in concert with each other. The symptoms of LBBB are shortness of breath and angina on exertion. I no longer suffer these symptoms because I am not able to exert myself to that degree (I have ME). I was told there was no medication for it, but being asymptomatic now, I hardly think about it. It is diagnosed by a very distinctive ECG trace. The problem with this is that if you ever get any other problems with your heart, this ECG trace tends to mask any other diagnostic traces. When I had a coronary artery spasm a few years ago they hooked me up to an ECG machine and everyone was swearing about my wretched LBBB which was not allowing them to see anything - they had to resort to bloods only. They found troponins in my blood, which are proteins which are released when the heart muscle is damaged (by lack of blood supply = heart attack) and not present otherwise, so they did know that I had had a cardiac event, even if my ECG was inconclusive. The cardiologist who diagnosed my LBBB said it was as if the electrical impulses to my heart were taking the scenic route. I hope this is helpful - or at least, of some interest!!
