WOYWW 579

Wow it is getting hotter and hotter here in Mojacar, but we haven't the influx of holiday makers as normal for this time of year. Only at weekends do the Spanish appear and I must admit they are very careful about social distancing and hand cleansing.

Although there are flights bringing people from the UK I think they  mostly own property here. A number of our hotels haven't reopened yet.

Enough of that and now for the reason we are here, what is on my workdesk tonight/today. Well firstly the floor and two bags of wool that a friend dropped off all sorted and ready to take to sewing/knitting group tomorrow. Along with one cat and the legs of one dog. This seems to be their place of the moment under my work table.

The work on top of the desk is still Christmas cards, I am building quite a stock just hope that by Christmas things will be normal and we will be able to have our fairs.

I am getting used to this new blogger but not the photos part of it.

I suppose practise makes perfect.

Managed to get my hair cut last Wednesday a blessing in this heat.

After sewing this morning I am taking my car for its ITV (MOT) hope I can understand the testers instructions in Spanish normally I have the garage take it for me but have had to fit in with the appointments available because of the lockdown.

Now to link with Julia our host for this fantastic Wednesday happening.https://stamping-ground.blogspot.com/

Hope you all have a great week  and remember to stay safe.

  1. It's amazing how much a hair cut makes a difference isn't it Ann! Hope the MOT goes OK. It is wet and miserable here at the moment. Summer seems to have only lasted three days. Hope the temperature is a bit more bearable for you soon. Stay safe and happy WOYWW. Sarah #?

  7. What a sweet image on the cards Ani, have you coloured them all? What a job! The southern Costas temperatures have been amazing, I think the cat tank the dog are doing exactly the right thing! I hope all goes well with the car, I expect you’ll surprise yourself with quite how much you do understand; for me the speed is the biggest problem!

  8. Yay for haircuts and being able to take the car out, even if it is only for the MOT! The pic of your cat and dog made me laugh, I'd quite like to join them for a gentle snooze....

  10. It must be strange to have your lovely part of the world to your self this year. I think here in the UK most of us are resigned to staying at home this year but I'm sure we'll be back next year, I hope so.
It's so exciting to be able to get a haircut again isn't it. I go on Friday and can't wait.
    Good look with the MOT.

  11. Oh my, what a friend you have to bring your yarns. That is so lovely.

I have tested the new blogger, and I found out that if I would like to have the images side by side I need to make a "table" for it, I also made the part of where the story goes a bit wider for it looking better. It is "just" a testing blog http://newartofmc.blogspot.com/ you will find the tool where you write the post before publishing it.

Thank you so much for sharing!

    Happy WOYWW

  13. You are certainly getting on with the Christmas cards, yes I hope to that things might be a bit happier by then. I managed to get an appointment with my hairdresser too at the weekend which feels much better. I noticed when we were at the pet shop that they have started selling cool mats for dogs which I should think would be brilliant where you are though not sure that the animals would get a look in Lol! Have a lovely and productive WOYWW, Angela x15x

  14. Hi Ani, your pets look very comfy there! I think things will be much closer to normal within a month or two, it's going to become something we just have to live with, I think. It must seem very odd not to have the normal number of tourists, it is very sad for those who rely on tourism for their income. Stay safe, have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #5 X

  15. I was thinking about Christmas too and wondering what sort of world we will be in by then in terms of crafting and get togethers etc. I like your idea of getting things ready and hoping it will be like any other year. Have a wonderful week, Lisa-Jane #16

  16. Hi Ani, another week and we will be in Spain, although there is still time for it to be cancelled! My grand daughter wanted to bring out canvases and paint, plus everything else. Suggested she bring sketch books, watercolour and pencils. I am packing the same and hoping to make some Christmas card fronts too. I don’t expect to find any craft shops in Nerja!

  17. Happy WOYWW. It has been getting colder and wetter here in Pembrokeshire. There are rumours of a heatwave, but no sign of it yet. Been watching 'Sun Sea & Selling Houses' every day for a few weeks. The Garners in Mojacar feature for half of it. Houses are very good value in your area. Much cheaper than where we have chosen. I would happily live in Almeria or Murcia, but hubby prefers the cycling further north. I still haven't started my Christmas crafting. Ordering some products from the new Stampin'Up! brochure this week, so it will still be Christmas in July for me! Ali x #29
