I had got so fed up of having to stay indoors and sitting in this room looking at a pile of card, glue, scissors etc that at the weekend I packed all away. But.......
there is another table behind where I have been sorting my wool stash out, so all is not as it seems, possibly a change of craft. This is some dk wool in pastel shades and only a small fraction of what I have.
The knitting was my evening craft which will now become my daytime craft as I sit outside getting my vitamin D! (Jan notice your bag I keep scissors, sewing up needles, pins, measure etc in, just need to pick it up and I have all I need). The turquiose tub thing I place my wool in when knitting just to spoil the cats enjoyment of chasing it.
One thing I did do this week was spend a few hours on the computer looking into my family history. Very interesting and something I will continue. Skeletons in the cupboard??
So that is me for today, off now to shower, dress, breakfast and sit in the sun. Over these six weeks of lockdown I have maintained my routine as best I can, probably because of the animals they need feeding when their built in clock tells them it is breakfast or dinner time.
Joining up with other crafters to see what is on their desks this Wednesday morning. https://stamping-ground.blogspot.com/ come and join us and leave a comment to let us know you have visited.
Morning Anne. Glad the weather is better and you can sit outside and soak in the vitamin D. Much better sticking to a routine even without pets, I find I sleep better as a result. Happy WOYWW. Stay safe. Sarah #?
ReplyDeleteI think a routine that gives your day a framework is a good thing, and I’m so pleased to read that the weather is good enough to be sitting outside...it definitely helps to prevent the ‘just these four walls’ feeling. I should imagine the space created by putting the table away is refreshing, I think recognising the need for the change is a good thing. It’s been warm and sunny here for a while and I can hear two of my neighbours chatting across their fence. It makes me smile because one has to stand on a chair and the other one sits in his deckchair a few feet from the fence and they seem to have fallen into a rhythm of sharing the standing! I don’t think they knew each other before lockdown and sunshine introduced them! I wonder if there are any skeletons? I did some research many years ago and discovered a shotgun wedding and a couple of babies born on the wrong side of the blanket, of course these aren’t nearly such a scandal these days, but the aunt who’s imminent birth caused the shotgun wedding was worried about me finding out so ended up telling me first. I felt sorry then because I wasn’t shocked and she had worried....and the shotgun wedding led to my grandparents being happily wed for 65 years which is definitely not a scandal! Have fun with your researching.
ReplyDeleteMorning Ani. Be very afraid!!! Looking up family history is very addictive!! I have, over the years, spent hours doing it. I love it - just wish I still had more time to find out more. Enjoy it. It is fascinating stuff. Great to see a small part of your yarn stash - mine looks similar - and that's just for the project I am currently working on - teehee.
ReplyDeleteTake care. Stay safe. God bless.

A bit of sunshine makes all the difference to the days. We have been so lucky here in the UK. April has been an amazingly sunny month and I've been in the garden most days. It really helps to bring some normality to things. Good Luck with your family tree, you'll become hooked, it's a fascinating thing to do and you get so attached to these people you are researching.
ReplyDeleteHave a good week and stay safe

We have one day of sun and a couple of days of rain. I am really trying not to whine but I do better when the sun shines. I've been slowly getting things cleaned up for Spring. Your yard looks very pretty and I'm sure your knitting will make something wonderful!

It's been gorgeous here in the UK, so much so it's a struggle to get any crafting done!! I love the idea of your cats chasing your wool so you have to put it in a tub LOL. Anything you can do get outside I would just go for it if you have the outside space. Can't understand people sitting in all day watching tv
ReplyDeleteOops forgot to say bye Ani! Stay Safe, Stay well, Happy WOYWW Cindy #18
ReplyDeleteAlways fascinating to delve into family history ... hope you find some interesting tidbits. Knitting in the sun sounds so peaceful. Enjoy and stay safe.

Love the picture of the contented dog sleeping and those gorgeous coloured balls of wool. Enjoy your delving into the family history. Happy WOYWW. Stay safe and well. With love & God Bless, Caro x (#25)
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW and thank you for your earlier visit to my blog. Yes, it is a fairly new design - I am sure it will change in the next few months. When I started with Wordpress, I just literally chose the first simple theme I could see. It must be starting to really warm up in Mojacar? Lovely sunshine here, but usually a cold wind, so cannot sit outside as much as I would like. We could do with some rain on the farm in the next week, as hubby is busy getting fields cultivated. Missing Spain and our friends there a lot. Would normally be there for Rich's birthday. A local guest house/restaurant hosts a big banquet with several courses. Very sociable and a village that we nearly bought a house in. Ali x #1
ReplyDeleteglad you are enjoying some sun, it does make you feel better. I am stuck indoors all day working but hey ho... lol. enjoy the knitting. Helen #2
ReplyDeleteIsn't there something very inviting about a large stash of yarn - have fun making and creating with it. Good luck with your research, I have been delving into my family history for years and come up with many interesting connections that have led me to meet distant relatives and learn even more from their research - it's fascinating and quite addictive.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a good week and the sun continues to shine for you,

It's amazing what you can find out when you delve into family history! Stay safe and keep crafting. xx Jo #9
ReplyDeleteLove your header - its new isn't it? Glad the weather has come up sunny for you and you can enjoy sitting outside with your knitting.
ReplyDeleteIt's surprising how, if we keep a routine and get up and at it in a morning there seems more hours in the day.
Stay safe and well, Hugs, Neet 5 xx
Hi Ani, that's lovely that you are able to sit in the sun and knit. I also started a bit of research into my family history this week, but I cheated a little. A cousin wrote to me about 25 years ago saying he was researching our family history - his mother and my mother were sisters. I've seen him once since then - so I tracked him down last week, and asked him what he knew. He traced the family back to the 1840s and gave me names, so I now have a head start. Have fun with it, and do share any interesting snippets you discover. Have a lovely week and stay safe, Heather xx #28
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photograph on your header and pleased the weather is picking up. Enjoy your family research. Wishing you a happy and creative woyww, Angela x17x
ReplyDeleteHi Ani hope you enjoyed your day in the sun, it's been lovely here in the UK today too. What a great idea that pot is to stop the cats chasing your wool, our animals certainly do keep our routines going. Take care & Happy WoywW Tracey #3 xx
ReplyDeleteHi Ani, not really warm enough for sitting outside here, but would be lovely. It' sunny & pleasant, but always a cool breeze blowing. Have a lovely week, Stay safe, Hugs, Shaz #11 X
ReplyDeleteHi Ani enjoy hunting out your skeletons in your family tree cupboard... hope you get further than I did! Love the balls of wool and beautiful lempn knitting there, well done! I love my arvo walk to get my Vit D and did it today, then came home and tidied up our lemon tree.. not much crafting!

Oh My, received my new Bible Journal goodies yesterday and so was so wrapped up in that most of the day and still not ventured into the Bible itself!!
ReplyDeleteAnyway nice to see the assortment of yarns, enjoy your knitting. Oh and the rainbow thing is a sign of hope in these difficult times. People are putting them in their windows, even the Prim Minister has kiddies ones in their window at present.
Thanks for the visit BJ#10
Love the wool colours, we are out in the garden as much as we can, taking advantage of the sunny weather although it is not warm.
ReplyDeleteTake care and stay safe

Arent animals lifesavers during lockdown! Someone to talk to to feed, to cuddle with, apart from hubby of course!I just let Inky outside, but she will be in soon, it's still 0°C out there! I can't wait to be able to sit in the sun and get some Vit D. Looks like you are doing well with your knitting, it's always good to change things up once in awhile! Stay well, stay busy, and stay safe! Lindart #34
ReplyDeleteLovely to see your pretty pastel double knitting yarns, Ani. I smiled at your kitty-proofing pot! Kitties and knitting do NOT mix! I have to confess to having 4 banana boxes stuffed full with knitting yarns! I keep all the little bits and pieces because I love to knit Kaffe Fasset style, with loads of colours, and designing my own patterns, it never matters if I've only got a bit of each. Nice to be able to sit outside - we've had a few days of glorious sunshine and were sitting out for lunch every day but it's cooled off again now. The kitties enjoy going out, though, as long as it isn't raining.
ReplyDeleteHappy belated WOYWW,
