Good morning all you 'lockdowners'. One blessing here in Spain we have some lovely weather, but only until Sunday apparently, so I am making the most of it. Yesterday I sat outside knitting then fell asleep and woke up with a slightly redden face!
In answer to the people who asked me about my amaryllis it has been in the same pot, with the same soil since I got it, also spends all its life outside. This week the other stem has opened so I have six flowers now.
Ok to my desk this was how it looked on Sunday, decided a good tidy was in order and I needed to make a start on my daughters card. I was also listening/watching to the morning service by the Bishop of Hereford.
Now fast forward to this morning.
It is slowly becoming a dumping ground again. The card is coming along good can't afford to make a mistake though as I have no spare pink card and no way of obtaining any more. Each section of the concertina will contain some photos of her childhood was hoping for some from each decade but 'houston we have a problem' from 2000 most of the photos are on the computer and my printer has run out of ink. As no shops are open I have had to order online and although they promised delivery we will have to wait and see.
The knitting is a little nurse doll in scrubs, saw the pattern on fb and thought it would be good to knit as a reminder of the great work our Spanish health system are doing. Lockdown has been extended for another two weeks and roadblocks have been set up to stop out of town people trying to get to their second coastal homes over the Easter period, we have also been asked to report any activity in apartments that have been empty over the last four weeks. At present we have no cases of Covid19 in our little town let's hope it stays that way.
Please stay safe everyone and abide by the lockdown it has been put in place for a reason.

Looks like a lot of activity on your desk and I am sure the card will be beautiful when completed. Love the idea of the knitted nurse in scrubs. How lucky are we to have access to so much information from the comfort of our home. Stay safe.

You have some great crafts going on at the moment - the pink card looks very pretty, I hope the inks get through so you can complete the project. I'm glad that your little town is ok at the moment, fortunately there's little COVID19 in my area but everyone's being careful. Luckily the beautiful weather is helping us all.

I do hope the printer ink arrives soon so you can finish your project Ani. I wish they would crack down more here. There are still too many people out and about. Stay safe and happy WOYWW. Sarah #5
ReplyDeleteMorning Ani. Well done - that card is going to be great when finished. Knitting a little doll in scrubs sounds a great idea. Will you keep it or send it to the hospital as a thank you?
ReplyDeleteTake care of yourself. Stay safe. God bless.

Hi Ani, I saw the pattern on FB too, but I'm neither a knitter or crocheter! lol. I know how, it just doesn't grab me. I hope the card goes well, it's rather nerve wracking when you can't afford to make a mistake! Have a lovely week, Stay safe, Hugs, Shaz #10 X
ReplyDeletefingers crossed for your printer ink - the card will be cherished . Not seen the pattern on FB but i can only knit and purl and not sure i could follow a pattern, do show us when its completed. Take care and Keep safe . Soojay #18
ReplyDeleteoh no for the printer ink (at least you have a printer; I don't!) the card is looking good though.. Thanks for stopping by. Helen #1
ReplyDeleteYour Daughter's card will be so cherished Ani, love the idea of using the pics i'm sure even if you did run out of pink you have things in your stash to balance it exactly just how you plan. Look forward to seeing it completed as well as your knitted nurse in scrubs, i'm neither a knitter but times like this make me want to be.. Take care of yourself, happy WoywW & have a peaceful Easter Tracey #24
ReplyDeleteI so hope your little town stays free from this horrible virus. What a shame you have been running out of things, just had to happen, like me with my flour. If you want it you can't have it, if you don't you have lots.
ReplyDeleteQuaker Oat Biscuits - oven on 300/2 - bake for 20 mins.
4 oz SR flour/4 oz oats/4 oz coconut/6 oz sugar/4 oz marg/2 oz syrup/2 tbsps water/1 tsp bicarb/pinch salt
Melt marg, syrup, sugar in pan. Dissolve bicarb in water and add. Mix all other ingredients together in pan with marg etc. Put in heaped teaspoons, well spaced on tray.
(I had no coconut so I put more oats in to make up for it)
Stay safe and well
Hugs Neet 2 xx
Happy WOYWW. I also hope that Mojacar stays Covid19-free. No cases in our rural area either, but that will probably change in the coming weeks. The Lockdown hasn't been so strict here and there seems to be far too much shopping etc going on. I haven't been away from the farm for 3 weeks now. However, haven't been able to get a delivery slot from Tesco for the coming weeks, so will have to venture out to collect groceries next week. Not looking forward to that. I would prefer to go into hibernation here! Enjoy the Spanish sunshine. Ali x #32

ReplyDeleteYour desk is like mine, I think I will just put that there for awhile and it stays there

Lovely busy desk - and that sounds like an amazing card for your daughter; so special. I hope you are staying well and safe. Happy WOYWW. With love and God bless, Caro xxx (#20)
ReplyDeleteHi Ani, I hope you get the printer ink in time to finish your daughter's card, it sounds a lovely keepsake card. I can't knit, but good on you for knitting a scrubs nurse. Enjoy the last of the sunshine while it lasts. Have a lovely week and stay safe, Heather xx #27
ReplyDeleteHi Ani, the papers look pretty on your desk. Sometimes you just have to tidy up especially when there's no room left even for the push back technique Lol! Wishing you a happy woyww and lots of crafty thoughts to keep you busy, Angela x15x
ReplyDeleteHaving some good weather here the last couple of days has made the lockdown more bearable - we are very lucky to have a large garden. I keep trying to read outside but like you I keep dozing off, only to awake when the book drops to te floor!! I think the sunbeds will have to come out tomorrow so at least I can have a proper kip!! Your card looks amazing fingers crossed you manage to finish it with your supplies - always frustrating when you have only just enough of something for a project. My desk is always covered, I seem to spend my life tidying up. (Shh don't tell anyone but I think I may have too much stuff). Stay home, stay safe, stay well, Happy WOYWW Cindy #26
ReplyDeleteI looked at your Wednesday desk with the wool nestling with the card and wondered what you were planning in the way of a birthday card with woolly additions. Then I read on the knitting a nurse and all became clear.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing

Knitting in the sunshine... lovely! And it reminds me of the fact that I have to hunt for yarn under the guest-bed (I believe there's a box with left over yarn there) so I can start crocheting in the evenings. Better do that now that it's daytime and I can see under the bed... Stay healty, safe and creative overthere dear one! Hug from Holland, Marit #23
ReplyDeleteI’m late - sorry. I would imagine that Lockdown will be even more strange during Santa Semana, almost eerie. I do hope the photos arrive in time....when you said a card with a few photos I didn’t realise quite how modest you were being about it! It will be lovely, I can imagine your daughters face already. I hope you’re keeping well and certainly you sound occupied, love the idea of the knitted nurse, what a great idea!
ReplyDeleteThe little knitted nurse sounds so sweet, Ani! I am knitting bunting for the now-postponed County Show - nice small pieces that are completed fairly quickly. Hope your new printer ink has arrived by now so you can get on with your project!
ReplyDeleteStay safe and well, and happy belated WOYWW,
Shoshi #17
the knitted nurse sounds great, though I did laugh at the thought of falling asleep in the sun knitting! My mate lives in Spain and yes the lockdown is hard, necessary, but hard.
ReplyDeleteHappy easter
