WOYWW 500

Congratulations to Julia our host on the 500 edition of WOYWW.

Hope you all have enjoyed your Christmas and New Year celebrations. Here in Spain we still have one more celebration to go  the 5th and 6th, which is Epiphany or Three Kings. Spanish children will receive most of their presents on the night of the 5th and there are some fantastic parades on this evening, when the Three Kings arrive by boat and are driven on floats through the town throwing sweets to the children.

Ok now to my desk, my computer desk actually that you saw all tidy from last week well it is still tidy as no work has been done since before Christmas.
Work will have to start on Monday though as Valentine and Easter are approaching and cards will be needed.

Here is a photo from the New Year's day dip in the sea, The mad British have been doing this for 4 years and the money raised goes to the local dog rescue centre.

Well that's me for today, hopefully I will have a more productive desk to show you next week.

  9. Mad Brits indeed, at least it can’t have been as cold as the Serpentine on Boxing Day where other mad Brits were swimming! brrr. You do have a tidy desk Missus, but I guess work will start soon enough! Not quite ready to tackle even valentines right now, I must say!

  10. I am grinning because, my son is deployed and he was pretty cold when he first got there so seeing the people in the water is funny. It looks much warmer than here. I love the shot of your pets for the top of the blog too. Happy New years! ~Stacy #27

  11. Brrrr... you wouldn't catch Shoshi doing that!!! Even if we do live in one of the mildest parts of the UK! Good on them though, for braving the elements and raising money for charity. Your desk looks nice and tidy and ready for the new year. Thank you for your visit, even though I'd posted but forgotten to sign in on Julia's blog!! Glad you like my studio. However, all those lovely shelves are full to bursting and there is still stuff on the floor lol! I need to have a good clear-out. I also have to keep the door shut because it's a kitty free zone - I don't think I'd ever find them if they got lost in there!

Thank you for your blog friendship too, and a very happy new year and 500th WOYWW,

  12. Happy 500th WOYWW. I saw the photos of your local swim on Facebook yesterday (for some reason I am still following the Mojacar group - from when we were thinking of buying a property in the area). Every town/coastal village seems to have a charity swim at Christmas or New Year now. At least you have the lovely sunshine. It has been very grey in Wales. Less than 5 weeks until our next trip to Spain - counting down the days! Ali x #23

  13. Brrrr! I hope they raised lots of money though! The Three Kings tradition sounds like fun! We are all finished here (well, most of us, the Greek Orthodox celebrate on a different day), having gained at least 5 pounds, and the cookies are not all gone yet. . .must get back to real food and the gym! Hope you had a wonderful Christmas, and that you have a fantastic 2019! Lindart #32

  18. I love the idea of a New Years Day dip in the sea and at least in Spain the water and air temperature will be a little warmer than here in the UK. We went swimming in an outdoor pool on new years day as well, but at least the water was heated. Wishing you a Happy and Creative New Year. Thanks for Sharing. God Bless, Caro x (#20)

  19. Hi Ani, we have the New Years Swim here too, they were getting ready as we were walking down the paseo, not that I’ve ever been inclined to join in! I need the water a little warmer before I can go in.
We used to go to see the three Kings, it’s always fun seeing the children and the floats,
    Happy New Year,

  23. Just wondering how warm the sea is where you are. In the north of England at a place called ~Morecambe they do a dash in the sea and i think they must be stark raving bonkers - guess your sea will not be so cold.
Look forward to seeing that tidy desk get covered in crafting things soon.
    Happy New Year to you
    Hugs, Neet 4 xx
