WOYWW 643 29th September

This week has been a very difficult one for me and Barney, on Thursday I had to make the decision to put my beloved cat to sleep. She hadn't been well for a while and it was the kindest thing to do. She had been part of my life for 16 years. Barney and I miss her terribly.

Introducing her to Morse in 2005

A small part of my mojo has come back in that the work table has made an appearance. I have been finishing off the bottle lights. Decided to paint them in the end for coverage.

Now the table is in place watch this space as the dreaded 'C' is only round the corner.

Another item I have made this week is this. (Don't look for the mistakes as knitting with dark wool at night is becoming impossible for this aging lady! Hopefully the first of many if only to use my wool stash up. Mittens to follow.

So being Wednesday I am off to my knitting/sewing group. We are now allowed to all sit together as many of our covid rules have been dropped. Even our infections didn't rise over the summer period which is very surprising considering the number of holiday makers that were here. Thankfully we now have our 'corner of enchantment' back for the residents.

Now to link up with our host for WOYWW Julia at https://stamping-ground.blogspot.com/  if you wish to know what all this is about just follow the link and perhaps join us one Wednesday.

  1. So sorry to hear about QC Ani, I know it must have been a hard decision to make. Glad that your club is back to normal though and that infection rates have held steady. I can't see any mistakes in the knitting! Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah #3

  3. I am so very sorry about QC, these pets leave a huge hole in our loves when they’re gone. Sending you big hugs and Barney too. I’m glad you’ve been crafting, it helps the hands and mind - the bottles turned out great and I know what you mean about dark wool……a ribbed beanie is great, fits any size head.

  4. So sorry to hear about QC Ani. It is dreadful to lose one of your family. Sending hugs to you both.
Glad you have managed to pick up crafting again. I find it helps a lot. Your bottles are beautiful. Dark wool is very difficult, I agree.
I like the look of your knitting group, it appears to be an eating desserts group too! An excellent idea!
    Take care and happy WOYWW

  9. Thanks for calling into my blog - yes I agree the computer games all seem a waste of time especially to a crafter who likes to have something to show for time spent! To be fair Ben just loves the Lego kits and isn't really allowed much time on the Minecraft site. Sad news about you little cat - that's life, but it is still hard to deal with. I'm glad your crafty group is up and running again - a good get together is priceless. xx Jo

  11. Oh such sad news! Rest easy in the knowledge that you gave her a very nice life. Sweet bottles, I still love that idea. Glad your group is going, mine, not yet, and I hope you have a lovely week.

    Happy WOYWW, late again

  13. Oh Ani, I am so sorry to hear about your poor old kitty. You must really miss her. We have been through this so many times and it never gets any easier as we love them so much. I pray that you will be comforted.

I love your bottles with the lights inside. They are so pretty and decorative.

Thank you for your visit, and for your good wishes too - I think my skin is starting to heal at last, as it's been a bit less itchy today and I've been less aware of it during the day. They said the worst of it would be around a fortnight after the end of the treatment so that's about right for timing. I am enjoying doing the studio storage project - it's a creative activity in itself! I do agree with you, though - it's going to be a discipline to put things back after I've used them! Today I used a stamp and now for the life of me I can't find its packaging. I've had a lot of stuff out today and the place was chaos! I hope it turns up!

Happy belated WOYWW and sending hugs for your loss.

  14. Oh gosh so late this week (eeek last week) don't think I've had the PC on since Wednesday's link up.

Sorry to hear of your cat, some lovely photo memories to hold on to.
Loving your bottle lights, quite delightful. Not sure that being told to use your right hand as a child was a good thing but if you are ambidextrous now, who can say.

Hand and wrist still sore seeing the consultant this evening for my dressing off proper, hoping it's all OK, although still not using it much.

    We'll see. BJ#10

  15. Oh no, I am so sorry to hear about your kitty. I wasn't in WOYWW last week due to cat problems at my end, I know how this is and how much it hurts, especially when they have spent all those years with you. Elle #, EOTC
