WOYWW 636

 Good morning ladies,

Not much on my desk again this week, it is just too hot to work and very hot temperatures forecast again from today. I have done some more of the jigsaw as that is under my ceiling fan and along with a standing fan I can stay cool. Note the talcume powder top right corning I had to put in on my arms and hands because the pieces kept sticking to me. I laugh sometimes at all the cosmetic goods that are involved in craft making, from baby wipes to makeup sponges and even shaving foam.

A little more crocheting has taken place but again it is too hot. Sorry the photos are great but taken early this morning and it isn't light here until 7.15am Yes that's my morning coffee.

Will now go to join our host Julia atstamping ground if you want to see what WOYWW is all about then just follow the link.

  2. I like dry weather but not excessively hot Ani so couldn't cope with the heat in Spain at the moment. That jigsaw is coming on well. Hope it cools down before too long. Stay safe and happy WOYWW. Sarah #5

  3. Yes, you tip about the talc was really good, it does help when crocheting with acrylic yarn - love the colours in your blanket! It’s nowhere near as hot here (thankfully) but I can’t cope with a blanket on my lap, hence the pile of squares is building up instead.

  4. Happy WOYWW. It is this time of year when I am happy to be in the UK rather than Spain. Our plans were always to be there for 6 months - from October to March, to escape some of the worst UK weather. Being able to travel doesn't seem to get any closer, although I know that Spain is also vaccinating its population quickly. Hubby wants to drive through France, which I am happy to try as my fear of flying was only getting worse every time we flew (after a really difficult landing at Alicante in a storm). I also have some talcum powder on my crafty table - but it is for making my own texture paste (mix with cheap PVA glue)! Ali x #12

  5. That’s a great tip about the talc. I’ll store that one away for later when we get some decent weather. The jigsaw looks great fun. I bet lunch lady Jan would snaffle it off you if she were nearer haha.
    Take care

  6. Love the colours of your blanket Ani but I couldn’t crochet when it’s as hot as Spain is right now. Good idea with the talc though.
    Take care and happy WOYWW

  8. You must do what's best for you. I cannot stand the high temperatures and pleased it's cooled down here as we have some gardening to do today. Wishing you a happy woyww what ever you choose to do. Hugs, Angela x14x

  10. I'd like it a bit warmer here today but could not cope with the heat you are having. Yesterday was lovely, weatherwise, but today it's a complete change again up north (near Manchester).
Enjoy the crochet, it looks lovely.
Yes, we do have lots of unlikely stuff in our craft stores but I never thought of using talc when my fingers got hot and sticky. Thanks for the tip and stay as cool as you can. Hope the pets are ok in this heat.

  11. Yes, Talc is an under rated great what's name. I was a bit surprised when my daughter said she'd suddenly 'found how good talc was' odd, when I remember her often emptying a whole tub of it over her head when she was little! Love the ouzzle, can't go wrong with the Beano and The Dandy!Stay safe. Happy WOYWW? ((Lyn)) #23

  12. I saw weather reports last night, it’s bonkers isn’t it. I know you know how to handle it, but do take good care. I’ve got that loopy blanket to make for my sissy and in dull wet Britain it’s too warm to work on that, so I totally get why you’re not doing much to the crochet. Lovely colours by the way. That’s a fun puzzle too, long time since I saw all those characters!

  14. Sorry to hear you are suffering in the heat, Ani - I couldn't cope with those high temperatures, I am sure! The crochet is coming along apace - lovely colours.

    Happy belated WOYWW,

  15. The talc is a good idea, not just for jigsaw making but for just keeping hands dry in the terribly hot weather we had recently. Fortunately, for me, it has cooled down and we are in, it seems, the rainy season now. Your crochet is coming along nicely but, again, it's been too hot for either knitting or crochet, always supposing the kitten could resist the lure of the yarn long enough. Hope it's a bit cooler for you this weekend and it's a good one. Elizabeth x #24

  17. eeek. My comment got lost! Ah well. I hate the heat, and I never knit when it's hot - well, socks yes but nothing else!Your crochet is coming along nicely - good progress despite the soaring temps! The puzzle looks fun and a better choice for the hot weather.

    Happy so very late WOYWW.
