WOYWW 607 20th January 2021

Well what can I say, yes we are in lockdown again as our little seaside village numbers have risen after the Christmas, New Year and 3 Kings holidays. Now all our bars, restaurants are closed likewise non essential shops but we are still free to roam as long as you don't go out of the town. Two of my friends have tested positive and today there is a mass screening being done at the local football ground. You can only go if you have been called by text and I have received no text. I shall just stay in and amuse myself with my hobbies.

So the desk is beginning to come back to life. A birthday card for my friend who will be 90 on Sunday (if you knew her you would not put her a day above 70), grand celebration plans made but now all postponed.

My jumper is coming on well finished the back and half the front done, but now only knitting by the fire in the evenings.

Our weather has improved a little and I am managing an hour of vitamin D in the mornings. In the sun, sheltered from the wind temperatures can reach 24C. Along with the vitamin C from my oranges I hope this is keeping me healthy!

No sewing/knitting group today so for once I will have a lazy Wednesday hoping to visit you all before the day is finished.

Please all stay safe.

Ani

  3. Ergh, It’s beginning to feel a bit endless isn’t it. So sorry about the re intro of lockdown, but I think we all knew at Christmas that it was going to have to happen. Was talking yesterday to a chum in Mijas; I think he’s very luck because he’s still working and for some that it’s a sanity saver. I see you have on or two gems to choose from! I keep reminding Bart that when we finally get out to Spain, I shall be spending some time in a Chino Bazaar refilling my stock of such stuff! It makes his eyes roll!!!

  4. Morning Ani. Oh bless you - back in lockdown - but we probably saw it coming when things were all opened up for Christmas and new year. Oh well, back to yet more craft work. Sorry your knitting group was cancelled today - was that because of your lockdown? Glad you liked the seasons jigsaws. I did try to do them in a sensible order - but to do them all at once with mixed up pieces would have used up my entire dining table - would have been a good challenge though!
    Take care. God bless.

  6. Oh blimey, I hope that your friends will be ok, it seems to be such a lottery how different people react to the virus. Hope you stay safe and well! Crafting is a blessing in these crazy days isn’t it? Lovely to see blue skies as it’s chucking it down today here in Wales.

  9. Crikey! all those gems! And I would LOVE to get a bit of natural Vit D but lately the sun has been AWOL. Lockdown SUCKS but if it helps slow the roll of the virus, I will stay locked down till we are all vaccinated. Hope you find enough to do to keep yourself busy and sorry about the group getting cancelled. Knit out in the sunshine if you can and maybe it will brighten your mood!

Happy WOYWW, with another late start

  13. Happy WOYWW. 24 degrees! That sounds wonderful. We have about 11 degrees - with rain and strong wind. I haven’t gone outside at all today. It should be better here tomorrow and I will be getting out for a walk in the fields. Hope your friends are not too ill. Stay safe. Ali x. #26

  18. I hope your friends recover quickly - we've had four local cases and one death near us since the easing of restrictions for Christmas day - so sad but with vaccines there is at least a light at the end of the tunnel. I hope you manage to celebrate in style, albeit belatedly, for your friends birthday soon.
    Have a good week,

  21. I hope your friend has a very happy 90th birthday, Ani. Thank you for your visit, and I'm glad you enjoyed the kitty photos. As for the squares, I am going to crochet them together which I think will be nicer than sewing - I've got various methods up my sleeve and will choose one that suits the design best. It will be done in black which will unify the design.

    Happy belated WOYWW,

  22. Hi Ani! Lovely views! I hope your friends are OK, scary when it gets that close. I can't think of anything nicer than sitting by the fire knitting...but 24°? Lucky you, we are at -14° today! The cats sure would love a spot like your balcony mid-winter! They see the sun and want to go out, then right back in when they realize how cold it is! Have a great week, Lindart #29
