Well our lockdown has gone into phase 1 which means we have a little freedom. Some of the bars and restuarants have opened but only with 50% capacity. I still haven't ventured out so don't know how busy the main beach road ia or has been.
I shall be going out today but to the hospital as on Monday I slipped when feeding the dog, his food went all over the terrace but that didn't stop him from eating it and my leg and ankle went under me. My ankle is still swollen and painful so thought it better if I sort professional help.
Now for my WOYWW not so much a desk but I have sorted out my UFO for the anniversary and here they are.
The first is a 142 x 142 cmsrug I started making years ago but ran out of wool, have now managed to find some wool not an exact match but near enough. The pattern is one I put together on my computer with a cross stitch app. so must have calculated the amount of wool wrong. Oops. I took the pattern from a wall hanging that was behind the presenters of Bargain Hunt on TV.
Well that is number one and number two is a cushion tapestry another design I created from the same app, but once again I haven't got enough wool but have been on Wool Warehouse website and they still do the shades I need but aren't delivering to Spain at present. So will order and have it sent to my daughter who will post it out to me just hope it arrives as post is a little hit and miss here. (My daughter never received her birthday card although I posted it three weeks ago).
So that is my UFO's.
Talking of birthdays my daughter was 50 on Saturday and she arranged a zoom get together, the wonders of social media. 10 of us all joined her for an hour, sang happy birthday as she cut the cake her husband had made her and toasted her with champagne. She said the cake was lovely but we only have her word for that!
Well that is me for today off now to the hospital complete with mask and gloves I believe they take your temperature before they let you in. We'll see what happens.
Now to link with Julia our hostess of WOYWW at

Sorry to hear about your fall but at least you didn't have to clear the dog food up. Hope the ankle gets better soon. Loving the tapestries it's ages since I did any and like you I probably have some unfinished. Wishing you a lovely crafty woyww. Stay safe, Angela x16x
ReplyDeleteHi Ani. You have really set yourself some challenge with those two pieces. I do hope everything needed arrives in time! Trusting your hospital visit went well, and that your ankle soon recovers.
ReplyDeleteTake care. Stay safe. God bless.

Oh my word, you poor thing. Not remotely surprised that Barney ate his supper off the floor, they don’t miss many opportunities, Labs! Sorry to hear that you’re still hurting from the fall, I hope the hospital visit wasn’t too traumatic, but I think you’re right to seek help, hopefully your home and sorted and perhaps weirdly, quite glad from the change of scenery! Your UFOs are marvellous, and so impressed that you made the patterns yourself, how clever you are. Isn’t it maddening about the card you made for your daughter; hope it will turn up and be a lovely out of the blue surprise at some stage, very glad you managed to spend some time online with her on the day though, even if it was virtual cake for you!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry I am so late mainly because of the computer - now got a new one - yeah - someone turned up trumps and bought me a new one.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear of your fall, hope you are alright now. Thanks for the story of your visit to the hospital to reassure me but I cancelled. Spoke with the main person and she has postponed it until the end of June for me.
My word, I am impressed with your doing your own designs. Lovely they are too and such a lot of work that you have set for yourself. Good luck with it all, they will be lovely when finished.
Hope your daughter enjoyed her isolated birthday - sounds as if it was nice anyhow.
Hugs, Neet xx
Hi Ani, sorry to be such ages visiting but it's been a really busy week. I absolutely LOVE your UFOs! The designs are fantastic. I am very sorry to hear you have hurt your ankle and I hope it is getting better now. Happy birthday to your daughter - my hubby's birthday was yesterday and we had a Zoom get together with the family too! Thank you for visiting, and I'm glad you liked seeing the kitties. I think little siblings do tend to stick together, and it was touching to hear how QC attached herself to you after her brother died.
ReplyDeleteHappy extremely belated WOYWW,
