WOYWW 525

525 is that correct? How the weeks are flying by, they say it is a sign of old age.

This is our weather warning for today so I think it is going  to be a hot one also the UV is forecast at a very high 11. I cringe when I see the lobster holidaymakers walking around.

So to my desk someone asked me for a man card so this was the result and not to waste left over bits I made a smaller one with gardening tools in the pocket.
My left over bits of card box has overflowed and that also needs a bigger box. Hate throwing bits away.

The desk contains the normal bits and pieces. I am thinking of starting on the dreaded 'C' cards this week it helps when the weather is so hot!
Off now to Knit and Natter group only about six of us last week, many of our members go back to family in the UK for the summer - can't stand the heat. Some of us have to grin and bear it, not really you just change into summer mode and do jobs etc accordingly.

Now to link with  Julia our WOYWW host

Have a good week everyone.

  1. Our local garden centre started a knit and natter group - wonder if it is still going strong? Then yesterday I watched a "Four in a Bed" programme on tv (four B&B owners test out one another's places and score) and yesterday there was a Knitting Hotel featured. They said it was the only one in the UK. There was lots of wool things about, lovely cushions and fancy bits and they include a masterclass in the price. (Mind you it is a bit pricey)

After that bit of information which you could pass on if you wanted this afternoon, but just go and enjoy yourself.
Love the cards you have been making, what a super idea they are.

  2. Manly cards are the worst for me. I've always felt like if I couldn't put a flower on it, I didn't want to make it! In a pinch I can do one but it is not my happy place! I love yours and think you did an excellent job!

  3. Be careful in those terrible temperatures....I hate being hotter than about 26C, so goodness knows what I'd do there. That man card is brilliant, just the ticket for a handyman!

  5. I believe the UK are due to be spoilt with a couple of days of sunshine starting tomorrow although you would not believe it looking out at how grey and overcast it is today. I'm not sure the heat would tempt me to start Christmas cards or maybe the thought will cool you down. Hope you manage to get some creative time in, I must admit i'd be under a brolly with my paints and pencils if it was me.

  6. Hope you manage to keep safe and coolish in the heatwave Ani. I am praying it will be cooler than that in Berlin next week. I have completed 10 'C' projects recently but only because they are smamples, I don't usually start this early. Happy WOYWW. Sarah #3

  8. Great masculine card! Stay safe from the sun - we're having a day at 30 on Saturday in the south of the UK - too much for me, so I don't know how you'll cope! Happy WOYWW Helen #2

  9. Your weather looks a bit like mine. We have high heat AND even higher heat indexes. I can relate. Of course, we also get the rain and flash floods, too!

Love that you use every bit of paper and nothing is left over in the end. My kind of paper artist!! Happy WOYWW from #1.

  13. After hearing you talk about your bits of card box I thought of another WOYWWer's exploding box. Great card! We're due to be in the 100's F all week. Unfortunately I have to go out in it every day. Ugh. Thanks for popping by!

  14. Not sure if this would cheer out up or not, but I have just had to close my bedroom window because there is a cold breeze down my back. Thank you for your visit today. By the way, encaustic art is creating "paintings" by using a small craft iron to heat different coloured wax blocks onto non absorbent card. It is great fun. xxx Maggie (Silvercrafter) #9

  16. Ohmy... temperatures in Spain are even higher than we had last week... and still you managed to visit my blog last week. You must have airco then? I did not sit at the computer last week due to the tropical days we too experienced in the Netherlands (too warm to sit at the computer in the atelier - too hot to do anything really...) Today it's bearable so I finally can DO something! Warm hug from Holland, Marit #7
