WOYWW 416

Wow Congratulations all on this 8th anniversary of WOYWW and a special thanks to Julia who hosts this every Wednesday.
Although for me it is only a little over a year I first joined on 6th April 2016 WOYWW 357. Thank you all for making me feel so welcome in this unique club.

Now for the reason we get together every Wednesday. To be nosey and look in on all your work desks.

So this is my desk or table this week, gone are the fabrics and a change of crafts, the beginnings of card making. Next week should reveal what I have made, well I hope so that is if I am at home long enough.

Wonder how many of you sew on a machine like this, my faithful old industial Singer. It might only be a straight stitcher but I really like it.

So that's it for today short and sweet now over to Julia on this special day.

  1. Happy 8th WOYWW Anniversary. So glad you started playing along. Your machine is a good one, I only wish I still had a my machine like that, mine needed repair and I ended up getting a new one, so computerized I can barely use it. Your name is below mine, so I will be sending you an ATC, please email your address to hilsyl@gmail.com Have a fun week.

  2. I inherited my grandmother's treadle machine, which is a New Home. She sewed on it till the day she died. The belt broke, but I found a new one, so hope to fix it one of these days and sew on it. I like that you use yours, too. Happy 8th Anniversary from # 1.

  3. Oh I love your machine - I learned to sew on an old Singer, remember being fascinated by turning the handle and watching the magic happen! I may have an electric machine now but it's very straightforward compared to many modern machines. Have fun making the cards and Happy 8th WOYWW!

  6. What a fantastic sewing machine. My grandmother used to have an old treadle run Singer machine (more a piece of furniture). When I was 15 I remember making a skirt and blouse on it. Look forward to seeing the fruits of your card making. Sarah #27

  7. Hi Ani, what a fantastic machine! We had machines just like that when I was at school- then they bought a brand new electric one. It was the only one in the school, and did zig zag stitch as well as straight! Everyone wanted to use it. :) Have a lovely week, Love and hugs,Shaz #7 XxX

  8. I have my mum's old singer but I use my industrial model 101 and a Pfaff and a toyota jeans machine, sometimes I hop from one to the other Mr G thinks I am mad, but like people no two machine are the same and each does a better job at different things, I think your machine is simply gorgeous, doone @23

  11. I LOVE your sewing machine! Older machines are sometimes the best. I used my grandmother's machine until it wore out from use. An old Rotary with a knee control rather than a foot one. And leave it to you, a fabric artist, to have such a cool collection of scissors! Happy 8th!

  16. Hi Ani, I used to have one of those, too. My husband has a colleague, from Cameroon, I think, who sends them home for a women's charity that helps them set up craft businesses, so off it went, when I got a slightly more up to date one. I love your 'crafting supervisors' too! My 2 cats are mine. I think they like the calm vibes. Happy WOYWW 8! Lynnecrafts #20

  17. Love that machine. I've got grandmas old singer and it only goes forward and back, but it's never given me as much trouble as the newer one I also have! Really like how you're flitting between paper and fabric with no major procrastinating or drama. So noticeable to one like me!,

  18. Hi Ani. I learned to sew on a machine like that but it was a Jones it had a bullet instead of a shuttle. Of all the days to choose my friends came round and we've been out most of the day so I am trying to catch-up with the visits before bed. Many thanks for the visit to mine. Happy woyww, Angela x17x

  21. Ah I love treadle machines Ani, I learnt to sew on it in sixth class, but mum had a knee press singer so used that too, it was early style of electric one. Somehow I loved the control you had with a treadle though and it sewed beautifully. Happy 8 th WOYWW!
    Thanks for sharing your inspiration!

  24. I have two sewing machines. A new all singing one (well not digital or anything but does do fancy stitches) and mum's old one which is a Singer. I still drag the old one out when I have a job to do, so much easier to understand.
Good luck with the card making, look forward to seeing what you are doing.
Thanks for visiting me and Happy 8th Anniversary - Hugs, Neet xx

  26. HI Ani, I am ashamed to say i am responding to your comment on my 416 post, thank you for visiting my desk and your nice comments.
My mum had a machine like that, my dad said she needed something newer, so bought her a new one which she never used, so I bottowed it to make my curtains when i got married, and she never had it back.
