WOYWW 373

Good morning from a sunny Manchester, yes this morning no work desk as I am in the UK, but a photo of the finished blanket I was crocheting for my grandson.

He loves it and is happy with all the bright colours, his favourite being the purple and turquiose.
It is lovely to be here in the UK and share in his last few days at junior school can't believe he will be going to high school in September - where do the years go. living abroad I have missed out on him growing up so much. I attended his final assembly yesterday titled 'we are year 6 get us out of here'. There were  many tears when they sang the last song.
All the year were presented with certificates and mortar boards, Daniels read 'for being a fabulous showman - an actor in the making. Read into that whatever you want.

Well no work desk this week but don't worry things are in the planning stages and visits to numerous craft shops are on the agenda. Must watch the luggage allowance travelling back though.

Well that's all for this week my grandson and I are off to Kent tomorrow to stay with my daughter for a few days. and his first visit to London as a treat we are taking him on the London eye tomorrow afternoon. Hope the weather is kind to us.

Thank you for all your kind wishes regarding my son, he is now nearly half way through his six week radiotherapy and you can see how it is effecting him. We all have to have a positive attitude although it is hard sometimes.

WOYWW 372

Good morning all, well this is what is on my desk this morning absolutely nothing.

All is packed away as I go to the UK tomorrow to see my son through his last weeks of radiotherapy and to take my grandson away for a very long weekend so my son and his wife can have some time together.
I shall be taking the multi coloured blanket I am crocheting for my grandson with me as have just the borders to finish now, so you will be getting a photo of the finished item probably along with my grandson modelling it. who knows!
So I will say goodbye for the present but will still be reading your Wednesday comments tablet permitting.

WOYWW 371

Can't believe what I have just done accidentally closed the tab down and lost what I was typing - that will teach me to save as I type.

So here goes again, I can't believe it is Wednesday once more, where do the days go to?
Nothing much different on the small desk today I am still making Christmas cards thought they might make me feel cooler but no. The temperature is now in the middle 30's and the area is getting busy with holidaymakers, no where to park the car, queues in supermarkets, having to wait to be served in cafes. No I am not really moaning - well yes I am. Roll on September.

I have moved into my small work room for the next few months as it is easier and cheaper to keep cool fan and air con wise. One member of my team doesn't like it though as there is no where for her to sit on the small desk so had to bring in an extra chair. What I do for my animals.

Thought I would show you these two photos I have taken there are part of a photo scavenge I am doing.

The first has to be a seasonal cocktail or beverage and here in Spain this is called granizado (like slush/crushed ice) but made with real fruit. These are strawberry and melon, the melon tasted lovely.

The second a bicycle, well of course it is.
This one stands across the road from our local vets, kermit is the rider.

Hope you all have a good week going to link up with Lunch Lady Jan's Fabric Frenzy now.

WOYWW

Apologies for not posting yesterday but above is a picture of my Wednesday desk. Yesterday was full to capacity, first my morning sewing group then lunch with the group. Lunches here in Spain can last over 2 hours. We pay 1€ every Wednesday and when the coffers are full treat ourselves to lunch. Should have taken a photo of the lunch and the beautiful view, next week I will photo the view but unfortunately lunch will have to wait until next time!
After lunch home to watch the exciting Ferderer match, then after that the Murray match both cliffhangers. If you are watching Wimbledon who do you fancy for the men's title?
Well my desk this week holds the beginnings of Christmas cards, hard to think of when we are baking in the 30C's. I have all my Christmas stamps, then printed the appropriate Christmas music from the internet, distressed it and combined to make cards. My Christmas card theme this year is 'carols'. What would we do without the internet.

Thought I would show you the progress  of my grandson's blanket 14 colours so far and only another 4 to go. I am hoping to take it with me  to the UK and finish there so I won't have the expense of posting it. I am not sure how many colour repeats are required  possibly another two.

Below is a picture of the sea and sky this morning, the white line is the light of the horizon obviously the sun is shining over Northern Africa way.

Reading Lisca's blog I notice  a mention of post crossing where you send post cards to different people in the world so I have joined the group and sent my first five cards and am now waiting to receive some in return.

Hope you all have a good week until next Wednesday bye.
