WOYWW 617 31st March 2021

Hello all, I'm back, from where you may well ask, the answer nowhere actually. Can't believe my last post was 610.

What have I been doing over these weeks, not much crafting. My daughter and her husband are now settled here in Spain, what a time to move countries. Their furniture has arrived after much asking for this paperwork and that paperwork then being told they would have to pay 21% tax on it. No it didn't happen. I haven't been to see them yet as we are on communidad (county) lockdown, they have been to see me and we made the trip into Almeria city for their official residencias.

I finished the jumper I was knitting, Don't know what happened to the colour but is it a minty pastel green colour. It has been washed and worn a number of times.

Next a friend lent me a jigsaw and I really enjoyed doing it. The pieces were quite thick and I have never used a picture so much to do a jigsaw. It was a scene from Central Park. The bottom picture is the picture of the jigsaw and I am sure I took a photo of the finished jigsaw but can't find it! I did finish it honestly.

Next on my agenda was some Easter chicks. When knitted in previous years the Cadbury's egg fitted in the body, not any more. I had to modify and put the egg in the head! Everything is shrinking wish I was.

So that is my last 7 weeks in a few sentences, hopefully will be back to normal from now on.

I have noticed our roads are very quiet well the three or so we have. Let's hope it stays that way until after the weekend, as I don't fancy going into lockdown yet again.

A Happy Easter to you all.

Now to link up with Julia@stamping ground that's if my membership hasn't been cancelled.

  1. Good to see you again Ani. Glad your daughter and her husband have finally settled in a bit. I think most things are getting smaller rather than putting the prices up. The manufacturers hope we won't notice. Great jigsaw. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah #9

  3. Busy bee! Love the jumper - looks a sensible pattern and will be great when the weather turns in the UK this weekend (brr again! I see a SNOWFLAKE on my weather app - what's THAT all about??) So are the eggs smaller or is your knitting looser? :D Cute puzzle and they can be fun if they are just on the verge of being too challenging but not tipping over into frustrating, right?

  4. I was thinking of you the other day when I heard the news about people being ejected. I hope it's all just media hype. The jumper looks lovely - beautiful colour. You're so right about the cream eggs. All the companies say it's just because we've got bigger that things seem smaller but you've proved that wrong! Stay safe and keep smiling, Lisa-Jane #3

  5. Blimey, that’s a big difference in the eggs! You ought to send that to Cadbury’s just to show it’s not good enough, lol! I’m so glad that your daughter’s move turned out ok in the end, it’ll be lovely for you to have her so close again xx

  8. How lovely that your daughter has moved to be near you in Spain, Ani. I hope the furniture arrives safely and that the whole move will be completed without too much hassle. Not an easy time for such an undertaking, I agree. The Easter chicks are really cute! Well done completing the jumper. Sometimes subtle colours are hard to photograph accurately, I find.

    Happy WOYWW,

  11. Great to see you Ani. So glad to read that your daughter is in and settled, such an upheaval and not made any easier by a pandemic, good grief. 21% tax. Honestly, someone somewhere will try anything. I remember when we sold the villa and the guy at the bank was advising us that there was a tax to pay to the Ajuntamiento and we asked what the % rate would be. He just shrugged and said depends who you talk to and what sort of day they’re having and which political party is in charge he said. Needless to say, that gave us the nerve to negotiate! I hope your daughter and her husband will love their new lives, and when you’re able, you can really enjoy having them within reach. I can just see the mint colour of the jumper, you did a great job , I do admire you who can knit. Hope soon that you can file the jumper in favour of lighter wear, it seems to have been a long old winter. I suspect that lockdown has a part in that feeling. Have you had a jab yet?

  12. Love the Easter chick's. My MIL used to knit then so I expect ours are too big now! Looks like a complicated jigsaw. Glad you managed to finish your jumper.
    Happy WOYWW and happy Easter!
