WOYWW 598

Hi Ladies I'm back after a number of weeks. Although I haven't contributed I have been reading your blogs.

I am at long last feeling better and hopefully now know what was wrong, apart from my diverticulitis which started the emergency dash to hospital, then all the tests I have had over the last couple of months, the doctors say I have an hiatus hernia. I am booked in to see the consultant again end of January. The one good thing about it all I have lost over 10 kilos not a good way to lose it but....

Now the reason why we are here 'What is on my desk this week'. I have only recently returned to my desk so this was taken Tuesday night.

The beginning of a couple of Christmas cards for a friends grandchildren. Not very exciting.

I have also done some knitting and crocheted some squares. The knitting consisted of beenie hats for the homeless - a total of seven done now, something I can do without thinking.

Well that is me done I will link up with Julia at Stamping Ground https://stamping-ground.blogspot.com/ If you want to know what it is all about follow the link above.

  3. I would love to lose that amount of weight but wouldn't want to go through what you did, hope you're much better now.
Love your gingerbread man card, that looks really promising.
Do you have a pattern you could share for those hats? they look fabulous and what a worthy cause too!
    Take care

  4. So lovely to see you, you’ve certainly been through it Missus, glad that the DV is calmed, I really feel for you. And how like you to find the silver lining, that’s a lot of weight to lose, I hope you are feeling good on it. Meanwhile, you’re doing the double thing again, crafting at your desk and when you’re not at your desk, you knitters are amazing for that. What is the level of Covid security around you currently? I hope it isn’t too strict and let’s you enjoy feeling well again.

  5. That must have been awfully painful for you, DV is not nice but the hernia on top!! Hope they get moving on sorting it soon. The weight loss is tremendous but what a way to lose it - also hope that you needed to lose it and its not caused other problems. Looks as if you kept your hands busy during the illness time.

  6. Oh blooming heck Ani, I’m sorry to hear that you’ve been so poorly, hope you’re beginning to feel a little better now. DV sounds awful and a hernia can’t help, I hope you get relief from both those things very soon. Love to see the beanies, I knitted a few recently and they’ve gone to a local homeless charity, as you say they run up without much thought!

  7. Cute hats! And I like your card start as well- the kids will love it I'm sure. Lovely to see knitting on a desk (my OTHER favourite craft!) but so sad you have been feeling poorly. My mom had DV and I know it isn't much fun, weight loss aside. Hopefully you will now be on the way towards feeling loads better and back to enjoying desk hopping every week.

  8. Hi Ani, nice to see you. Hope they sort that problem out as it sounds horrid but I have known someone with a Hernia before and they did sort it for her so fingers crossed. Loving the hats, someone is going to love those especially once the cold weather starts, it's a difficult time for the homeless. Take care and sending woyww hugs, Angela x14x

  9. Happy WOYWW. Glad to hear they have diagnosed what your problem is, and hope they can sort it out soon. We are really missing our usual trips to Spain, especially as the Northern Costa Blanca has been having a lot of lovely weather. I definitely need some warm sunshine. Well done for knitting hats for the homeless. My knitting is very slow and not very neat, so haven't done any for ages. There definitely aren't enough hours in the day to do all the craft projects I think about! Ali x #25

  13. Hi Ani, nice to see you back, and glad you have some answers to your health problems. The beanies look great - I can't knit, but I would have to fully concentrate on what I am doing if I could. I've just started learning how to crochet, so hopefully will have something to show for it soon. Have a lovely week, Heather xx #22

  16. I am sorry to hear about your gut issues, Ani, but glad they have now got to the bottom of the problem, which I hope they can sort. My hubby has diverticular disease but it's fairly well controlled thank goodness. We know ALL about gut issues in this family, I can tell you!!! I love your knitted beanies for the homeless - a lovely idea, and a cute little gingerbread man in the making, too!

    Happy belated WOYWW,
