Still suffering with the heat even though the temperatures have drop a little.
Change of craft this week gone back to sewing. My daughters step daughter is expecting a baby in December so she has asked me to make some bibs for 'it'. (They don't want to know the sex)
Making bibs, aprons, cuddle robes etc was my business before I moved to Spain. We travelled the craft fair circuit at weekends selling them. All my bibs were backed with waterproof nylon and a layer of towelling in between.
So this week it was time to get the templates, material and towelling out once more.
So that is my workdesk this week, will show the finished results next week.
Don't think I will be going into business again though, although I do some local fairs here in spain.
oh what pretty things to make! hope the heat drops for you further soon. we are due heavy rain here today so I am set to get very wet on the way home from work tonight! have a good day Helen #2

ReplyDeleteHappy woyww! Stay safe and keep well, Susan #10
Well, I didn't know you did craft fairs - so did I! But it got that I resented the time for the income I was making...now I sew for pleasure only. The bibs are fab and I love the fact they want a surprise about the sex, that's quite rare these days!

They are so cute I know your daughter is going to love those. My friend's daughter is expecting a baby in the new year and I said I would make them a Baby journal and of course they don't want to know the sex either so I'm making two, one pink, one blue....not sure why I agreed to this now! Still I'm sure it will be fun making them and there will be one spare for another time. Wishing you a very happy and creative woyww, Angela x14x

ReplyDeletebusy desk! I love the cute bibs! It has been horrible hot here too and having to wear a mask in public makes it almost unbearable! Most days are about 32°C sometimes up to 40°..(86-104F). Miserable hot so we stay inside most days. Hope it cools down for you a bit. Vickie #32
ReplyDeleteThose bibs are going to be wonderful, looks like you are going to be busier than ever Angela #31

Thank you so much for your kind words and visit. Oh your photo of bibs, really cute fabrics. I to use to do craft shows with "Bibs" made them for so many family members..Kind of gave sewing up when I went into wood working. Now have a computerized machine I have no clue how to run and a sturdy simple one I love. Mostly use it for paper/lace/crafty things. You have a great weekend. Stay Safe.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the pretty fabrics of those bibs and look forward to seeing them finished next week. Sorry I am late commenting. Happy belated WOYWW. Take care and stay safe. with love & God Bless, Caro xxx (#9)
ReplyDeleteSorry I’m late Ani, hope the heat is dropping enough at night for you to sleep. I’m OK as long as I can have sleep, otherwise the whole time is just a slog. Talk about learn something new every week...golly you must have made thousands of bibs for thousands of babies! I wonder if I ever bought some off you at a craft fair - i used to go to loads, and of course they were such a great gift! Gish I bet you can practically make this lot from muscle memory alone!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting to have a new baby in the family. We are also hoping for a new grandchild in April. Early days yet, but something to look forward to.
ReplyDeleteIn reply to your comment on my blog, the Turre sewing circle is open again with limited spaces. Your friend would need to ring or contact Either Gloria Bishop, her sister Selina (Steve) Smith or Ruth Stubbs. She can locate them on messenger via the Turre Sewing Group Facebook page. I am not going back yet so I don't have any more details. Hope that helps. Kate x
Those bibs are lovely, such pretty fabric. I have a thing for fabric, I buy it but can't sew to save my life! Well, it's the thought of ruining the fabric once I start sewing it! I have some nice squares that would make nice fun masks but, nightmares from school are now coming back!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week Stay safe! Happy WOYWW ((Lyn)) #12
