WOYWW 575

OMG what is this new blogger. Why change things that work? I am too old for change. Has taken me ages to get this far.

I saved the above and now it has taken me 15 minutes to find it again. Think New Blogger and me are going to fall out big time.

Well let's get down to business and the reason we are here.
Ok now to try and load some photos

Well success - this is my table Tuesday afternoon. Making some cards that can be used as anniversary or with friends like mine for birthday. After all champagne or cava as we drink in Spain can be drunk any time.

My trusted friend in his usual position.

Can I ask what does anyone use to stick inserts in cards I have been using double sided tape but notice after a few weeks it has dried out and left a brownish mark showing through. I have had to go through my stock and replace the inserts. Now I am worried that my Christmas stock I am building up will be the same before Christmas. Maybe I have trouble because of the heat here.

Also this week I have been sewing blanket squares together, a lady in the sewing/knitting group made them but wasn't keen on all the sewing up. The blankets will go to the local dogs home when finished.

Now to my over grown, over smelly plant in the garden. I used to love Lady of the Night and its delicate perfume, I have had this plant years but over the past four years (flowers twice a year) the perfume as become over powering. I cut it down low after each flowering but this makes no difference. Any gardeners out there - has it had its day, the older they get the smellier they get!!

Can you see the dog?

One for Annie you must have seen this but I thought of you and your face masks.

Now for the final stage of this new blogger, to save and schedule for posting tomorrow to link up with Julia at https://stamping-ground.blogspot.com/

PS Can I get this to publish no way. Have gone back to the old blogger.

  1. Oh you don't fill me with confidence about the new blogger!! I am putting it off! I don't use inserts in my cards - but I hope you find a solution - are you using a different type of tape maybe that is the problem? Take care and have a good week Helen #1

  2. Morning Ani. Oh my! You have struggled this week with posting, haven't you?! I trust it may get easier for you. I haven't a clue about blogger - use Word press myself, thanks to the enormous amount of help our Camilla's hubby put in to rescue my blog a couple of years ago.
I don't use inserts in my card unless the card base is a dark colour - which, for me, is unusual - but yes, at that point I use DST.
I trust you get all the blanket squares sewn together - it's a bit warm for sewing big blankets, isn't it - not that I can talk, as I am doing just that!
Take care. Stay safe. God bless.

  3. Oh no, more stuff to learn with blogger by the sound of it - I'm not looking forward to that! As for card inserts I always use tape and so far have had no problems - perhaps it's the brand you are using - I do hope you find an answer to your problem.
Hope you have a good week, stay safe and well,

  5. Still waiting for new Blogger to appear on my computer. Sorry I can't help you with the plant query but hopefully some comments will come from other woyww's. stay safe as you create. I have had similar tape issues and also wondered if they heat affected the tape.

  6. Morning Ani, I'm sorry you are struggling with blogger, I have had no new troubles, it is still a bit unco-operative.
I use double sided tape for card inserts too, must go and look at mine to see if they are marked.
    Thanks for sharing

  7. Morning Ani, I have just had a look at the new blogger and if you hover over the prepared blog post a series of icons appears towards the right. The arrow button on the left of the four icons appears to be the publish button. I am still using the old blogger at the moment though. I use double sided tape for card inserts and haven't noticed any discolouration I must admit. Stay safe and happy WOYWW. Sarah #17

  8. The new Blogger is quite different, I am persevering with it as it's going to change over at some point. I'm finding it ok now and this week's post took a lot less time to write! I am so with your craft group friend as I detest sewing up - this is why I always make stripey blankets, lol!!!

  10. Unfortunately, the new blogger will be standard at the end of June. So I guess all will have to get use to it? - I am sticking with my wordpress blog as I can change it in my way for everything. I have a blog on blogger, but rarely use it.

I believe your plant will smell even worse when it is getting older. it doesn't help much to cut it back (smelly wise), sorry!

Lots of things is going on, on your desk. That is great to see!!

Thank you so much for sharing!

    Happy WOYWW

  11. Blogger is still the same old one for me, maybe I shouldn't say that as it'll probably change now. Your plant is a new one on me, I've not seen it before. Will have to investigate although if it gets smelly that's not so good.
    Have a good week

  12. Hi Ani, the only issue I've had so far is with font size! So keeping my fingers crossed. I'd suggest letting Blogger know what your issues are, so they can maybe give you a fix, as it's being swapped regardless during this month, I believe. As for inserts, I use the 'snail' type tape runner for it, or my ATG. ATG is a cheaper option in the long run, as theirs much more tape on a roll. I had the same issue as you I noticed a couple of years ago, so stopped using DST for them. Have a lovely week,Stay Safe, Hugs, Shaz #13 X

  13. Hi Ani, I haven’t tried new blogger yet, the fonts on the old one have gone a bit odd. Two sentences have got a white background today and are a different size to the rest! Very odd! Hope all the issues re sorted when I use it :) Happy WOYWW Angela #28

  14. Hi Ani, I too stopped using double sided tape on inserts and now use a tape runner which seems to work well. I'm with you on the new blogger, something always goes wrong when they alter stuff. Have a lovely week and a very happy and creative woyww, Angela x19x

  15. Actually Ani, I dont think its at all obvious how to go about publishing and it took me on her than it should to copy and paste Mr Linky’s html code in this week because I could not work out which apparent ‘easy’ icon I should press to get going, I’m change resistant too, and a bit cross about the need. BUT, for the second time in 10 years, I’ve been able to blog onto Blogger using my iPad and without using an App. For me this is such a breakthrough that I am going to persist. My last post before this WOYWW was about the new blogger and from people’s comments, I think we all use it so differently that I only scratch the surface in understanding it anyway. Don’t know anything about the smelly tree (except that it shouldn’t have paws...). Have a look on the website for the RHS, (Royal Horticulural Society), I use that to tell me what I should be doing and how for all my garden plants. Might help, worth a browse! And so to your desk..you really are busy at it aren’t you. Horrible shock to find the tape is going brown, argh. I dont put inserts in all my cards, but when I do, its not a folded piece to make a signature, just a piece cut and stuck from the top only on the inside face. I use my ATG gun to dispense tape onto it. Haven’t had a problem before. BUT....I dont make masses of cards in advance like you do. Perhaps its just the particular brand that you’ve used. Hope it’s easy to remedy though, that is very disheartening. On the bright side - you are lovely to take on the square sewing up. I go (went) to a craft group with my Ma In Law once a fort nite and I can imagine everyone looking at the floor very hard when the time came to find someone to do that!!

  17. Hi Ani, I've read a few comments on new Blogger - but I haven't noticed any difference really! I have always used a tablet, so maybe that is why. You made me laugh about the old, smelly Lady of the Night .... but I can imagine an overpowering smell is not funny! I've always used DST for inserts, and not had the problem you mentioned. I just went and checked the cards I have made Mr M over the last few years, and the insert is fine. However ... there were a few cards in my stash I made right when I started crafting (2015) that I liked too much to send to anyone (weird I know), and they were layered, and when I picked one up, the top layer came off, and the DST was brown where it had been, it has just kind of vanished into thin air! I now have a tape gun, so will be using that in future. Have a lovely week and stay safe and well, Heather xx #3

  18. Reading what you have to say about the new Blogger, Ani, I am just really glad that I made the change to Wordpress last year. I got absolutely fed up with Blogger after they managed to lose every single photo from 8 years' worth of blogging. I started to put them back and rapidly lost the will to live over the effort of it all, and then people were telling me they still couldn't see them! I think Blogger is clunky and horrible, especially their so-called editor which is total rubbish in my opinion - nothing comes out where you want it to! I used to use a 3rd party offline editor and then upload my posts, until Blogger changed something and it was no longer compatible. That was the final straw for me.

I'm glad to hear things are easing up a bit for you lockdown-wise.

Sorry to hear about the problems with the card inserts. I've never had that problem and wonder if it is anything to do with the climate. You could try a very small amount of wet glue which dries clear, perhaps. It's a real bore to find this is happening, after all your hard work!

    Happy belated WOYWW,
