We are still baking in very high temperatures but needs must and seeing as I have booked a Christmas craft stall in November as well as the Dames in Spain fair I really need to get cracking with some more makes.
So on my desk today is a fabric Christmas tree, I made some of these years ago so thought I would make some more but try to simplify the design. I am going to leave off the decorations on the triangles and also the wooden support across the bottom row of triangles to make them quicker and cheaper to make.
This was one I made in 2011 hangs perfectly on the light fitting! |
Also the felts came out for Christmas stockings! |
You have to think of your furry friends when it's hot. My two love this fan blowing on them. Can't understand why they lie on the rug and not on the tiled floor when it's hot.
So that's me done for this WOYWW off to the doctors this morning had a blood sugar scare so have been seeing the nurse for testing three times a week, the doctor will deliver her verdict this morning. I have tried to control it by diet so hope she is happy.
Now to link up with Julia at stamping-ground.blogspot.com. who hosts our postings every week.
luckily our intense heat seems to have gone... not sure I could do Christmas crafting whilst it was so hot, well done you! Helen #1
ReplyDeleteMolly-cat spends most of her days under the bushes when it's hot, poor thing :(
ReplyDeleteCan't even contemplate the C-word yet...
Happy WOYWW :)
Claire, no. 7
Hope your doctors appointment goes well!
ReplyDeleteThe trouble with cats is that, even in the heat, comfort must come first... the fan is on, so the better choice for comfort has to be the carpet lol.
The fabric tree looks amazing hung on the wall :)
Have a fantastic day!

You mean you had blood taken 3 times a week? Yikes! Hope things are ok when you go for the results.
ReplyDeleteLove the photo of the two fur babies relaxing with the fan - how thoughtful of you to do that for them.
Love the trees you are making - the one you had on the wall looks really good.
Take care, hugs, Neet 8 xx
Hi Ani, good luck at the doctor, not fun! I love your photos and look forward to seeing the finished projects, the tree on the wall looks great - I wish I had the sewing talent but nope! The kitties look very chilled too, or should that be melted from heat? Lyns xx #20
ReplyDeleteHope all goes well at the Doctors and that diet control is all that's needed. Love the look of the finished piece on the wall. Good luck getting everything ready for your next sale. Sarah #23
ReplyDeleteNice to see you back Ani, but I'm sorry to hear you've been up and down healthwise. Hope all the testing has a positive outcome. The Christmas tree decoration looks great fun and uses up lots of scraps I should imagine!

Hi Ani, I hope the blood sugar results are good, you've reminded me I have to ring up for mine, I had it done before we went away. Doug has left you a comment in the comments on my blog about the apps he used. Love the Christmas tree, what a lovely idea. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #3 XxX
ReplyDeleteI thought I entered a parallel universe and it's Christmas already! Love the kitties lounging in front of the fan - Oreo doesn't like it - then aggain, it's probably not hot enough for him yet! Enjoy your week! zsuzsa #26
ReplyDeleteWow! such a good industry you've got going there. Thanks for sharing - Hazel, #25 x
ReplyDeleteLooks like you are having a great tine in spite of the heat! Being a crafter and designer means having holiday time things on the desk and in the works well in advance of holiday time, doesn't it? I think we've all been there. Lolz
ReplyDeleteCats are like heat-seeking devices in winter, and cool-seeking devices in summer. They can sense temps and currents that we often are too busy to pay any attention to. Your 2 are very pretty kitties!
Happy WOYWW!

ReplyDeleteVery cute Christmas tree! Maybe thinking about Christmas will cool you off! Those kitties do look comfy in front of the fan! Thanks, for sharing, Lindart #33 (PS-the link takes you a page that says post does not exist - just click on "home", and it will go to the post)
ReplyDeleteAni, I put a comment on your page first thing this morning, and it has disappeared, so I'll will try again.
ReplyDeleteJust love your Christmas trees, they are very beautiful, am sure they will disappear of the stall at the show.
Thanks for visiting my page, living on a boat is fun in summer, but not quite so nice when it is snowing, so hope we get a house before winter.

Oh the Christmas tree is lovely, what a great idea. It's not easy to work in the 'spirit' of baubles and glitter when you're actually trying to escape the heat! The pussy cats have the right idea, for sure. Hope the Dr was pleased with you this morning!
ReplyDeleteGreat Christmas tree idea, love it. I'm having to take my time getting round this week due to a bad head cold but I'll get there. Happy belated woyww, Angela x19x
ReplyDeleteLoving the Christmas tree. Thanks for sharing Rachel
