WOYWW 800 2nd October 2024

 WOYWW 800 2nd October

Hello it's me again. Congratulations on the 800..

My first venture onto the WOYWW was 6th April 2016 I used to be a regular contributor but thing lapsed as I have craft group on Wednesdays and have to leave by 9.00am.

Now the heat of the summer has past I feel like returning to normal - well whatever normal is in my life.

I have done a little crafting over the very hot summer we have had this year. Mostly small things for charity. We have the Ukraine priest coming to our sewing group today, he helped distribute the goods we sent over to Ukraine, but eventually got stopped when one of the drivers got killed. The team are hoping to go over with some goods before Christmas.

Above are some bits and pieces I have been knitting. The snowmen are to give to our patients and carers group - Stepping Stones that meet every Thursday. It is a group for people and their carers, we play games, give them lunch and provide whatever help we can.

Well congratulations all the members of WOYWW and here's to the next 800.

WOYWW

So sorry to hear that Julia has resigned from WOYWW but hey welcome Sarah. I wish you all the best.

I am still persevering with the Spanish ladies and their bargello work. I have finished the first one. sorry no pictures as I am staying at my daughters. This is a new one I am doing. We have been told an exhibition of our work is to take place next month!

Sorry for any mistakes but writing  this on my mobile much prefer my desktop.

Wednesday, 1 May 2024

Gosh my last post on here 26th April 2023 with 'hello from sunny Spain. Wish I could say that today, this afternoon we had a short downpour, if only it had been more. We are desperately short of water and every little drop is precious. it is also cold, well in my opinion.

I have still been doing craft work over the last 12 months but have cut down drastically on what I do. No more sewing, but still hoping to do some knitting and crochet work.

I have joined a small Spanish group of ladies who do work called 'Bargello'.

This is one of the ladies designs,

And this is my small design, only small  to start with.

Some of the ladies are making rugs, which will be backed with hessian then a non slip rug material. I can just imagine them in an old Spanish finca.

I am now trying to design some smaller Christmas wall hangings. I am hoping by joining this group will also improve my conversational spanish. One can always hope.

So that is me after a 12 month gap year.

I will now see if I can remember how to link up with Julia at https://stamping-ground.blogspot.com/ That's one bit done.
