WOYWW 654 15th December

Sorry I have been very hit and miss these last few weeks, I promise to do better.

Hope you are ready for Christmas, I just don't have the Christmas feeling this year. It is quite low key here not at all commercialised.

I have a Christmas lunch with four friends on Thursday so that may put me more in the mood and another one at knitting/sewing next Wednesday. Then I am turkeyed out so it is beef for Christmas dinner.

I have been busy knitting and crocheting these blankets for our local cats home, which I delivered today. They were gratefully received.

Instead of Christmas cards for the ladies of the knitting/sewing class I made these little socks and put a wrapped chocolate in each one. Will take them today and see their reaction.

Some of you may have seen my poinsettia photo on facebook, I bought it as a small plant many years ago and planted in the garden. This year it has flowered just at the right time.

When I came to live in Spain permanently well over 20 years ago I purchased a small Christmas tree in a pot for my first Christmas, then afterwards planted it in the garden. Up until a few years ago I decorated it with lights but now it is so tall I can no longer put lights on it.

And the last garden photo is of my orange and grapefruit trees. The grapefruits are pink ones and so sweet. I am not supposed to eat them because of the tablets I take, but can't resist one every so often. I have plenty of friends who love them so they don't go to waste.

I suppose my garden has been my work area this last week, always lots of work to do this time of year.

Well that is me for this week now I will join up with the rest of the ladies at https://stamping-ground.blogspot.com/ and hopefully visit you all during the week.

  3. Thank you for showing us your garden, how wonderful are all those plants you’ve nurtured, you definitely have green fingers! I loved the little stockings fro your friends, they’re very cute. Hope you feel a bit more Christmassy after the lunch today, I’ve been playing carols for the past three weeks so it’s been drummed into me, lol!

  4. Hi Ani, don't ask where I've been but I've only just got round to opening the laptop. We had a Christmas tree like that in our garden when we moved in to this house and it became so tall that we had to get the professionals in to take it down, they grow really high if you let them. The little stockings are gorgeous, lucky ladies to get those. Wishing you a very happy and creative woyww, Angela x14x

  5. The poinsettias I buy don’t seem to last . I don’t over water them or let them get too dry. Yours is beautiful. Your little stockings are a lovely idea and I am sure much admired. Happy WOYWW Angela #11
