WOYWW 629

Here as promised Julia reporting for duty, but haven't got much to show.

My table this week is littered with photographs that I am sorting out. This is something I have been meaning to do for over 20 years since I moved to spain, The albums were purchased in the uk and have remained in their plastic covering ever since but not any more. I have promised all the photos to my daughter so she can have a laugh at how things used to be.

I am still making the teddys and have completed a drawstring bag for each one.

I will keep making them in the hope I will be able to find someone returning to the UK by car and will transport them for me. Also it is a great way of using oddments of wool and they are so easy to knit.

Below are some photos of work done by members of our Wednesday knitting/sewing group.

We are truly a gifted bunch of ladies and now that people are slowly returning to their holiday homes we are welcoming back some members we have not seen for over 18 months. Today 14 of us will sit down for our summer lunch, slowly things are returning to normal. Oh and after this weekend our face masks will be no more, only in exceptional circumstances ie supermarkets, hospitals, etc.

So along with the weather picking up life is good. Hope it is for all of you.

  6. Such a talented bunch indeed. I was going to say how much I admired the Rennie Mackintosh work but then so much more was revealed and I was blown away by it. It must be a pleasure to meet up with such talented ladies.
Your teddies are lovely too and they remind me so much of Rupert bear. What a lovely thing to do and to give them bags to be carried in too. Carry on with the photo sorting, such a big task by the look of it but worth it in the end.

  8. OOh Anne, that’s a job that is, a family’s lifetime of photos! Your daughter realises she’ll need a separate room for them?!! I love the teddies, and I had to smile when you say they are so easy to knit! It’ll be a wrench to part with them when you eventually do…I wish I was making a car trip to your part of the world, I really do! And oh my, I love the variety of work that your Wednesday group are doing, what a patient and talented group, such lovely work, and shocker, no printed patterns anywhere to be seen … good grief.

  13. Happy WOYWW. Wonderful to hear that things are progressing in the right direction in Spain. I think we have given up being able to travel out this year. Hubby is not at all keen to get on a plane (it is the airport part that he is worried about, but I have told him how organised it is with social distancing etc). He wants to drive down, but that would be a very long journey for me to cope with - and only possible if we then spent at least 2 months in Spain, which we cannot do at the moment (we still have a cat at home, and the farm business needs us). Missing Spain and our friends so much. Ali x #24
