Hi Ladies I'm back. Sorry I have been missing for a few weeks but the heat of the summer has just got to me this year. Everyone is complaining how hot it has been. The hot weather still continues but now temperatures now have dropped to about 28C since we had a terrific rain storm called a Gota Fria. You may have seen on television some of the devastation it caused in some provinces.

Now come to my desk(s) first the computer table is looking very tidy on Tuesday morning. Some Christmas cards waiting for inserts, a bottle of water, and Radio Manchester online to keep me company.

Then down to my work desk waiting for inspiration think it will be Christmas cards as the bits and pieces are already in place. 

 Even Barney is fed up with the hot weather and finds this the coolest place under my desk with the fan whirling overhead.

I've been doing some other work like a little knitting this is a teddy from a Knitables pattern and I have nearly completed his santa outfit.

 

Also found this wool in my stash and thought it would knit a blanket for the dog.

I'm late, I'm late for a very important date.
Yes didn't want to rise from my bed this morning as last night was so cool in comparison to what has been.

So it is lunchtime and have just returned from knitting/sewing group, only 4 of us today. This is what I am working on 'The Knitables Teddy Bear and Santa costume. Note the talc I use this on my hands knitting in hot weather, also makes the knitting smell nice.

This was my desk before I left this morning. Still littered with card making material and I have made a few more cards this week. Note dog under the fan he was there before the cat this morning. Thought I would give you another angle today this is taken on the stairs looking down. As you can see I roll on my chair between work station and computer.

Now off to my after Ladies group LOL - Ladies of Leisure. By the time I am home at 4.00 I shall be tired out to put it politely!

Hello from a still sweltering Mojacar, yes temperatures are still very high and unbearable and I am beginning to wilt. Thank goodness for fans and air con. It becomes a fight who gets in front of the fan - the dog, the cat or me. 

The cat won this one.

Tuesday evenings desk is wow tidy, yes I was getting annoyed because I couldn't find things, so now from top left we have pencil crayons etc, Christmas papers, stickers, stamped items some coloured in some not, boards and cutting items, work board and scissors, etc. the black in the top corner is my clip on light with day light bulb, have found it better for working at night rather than the four overhead ceiling lights adding to the temperatures.

So this week I have been working on more 'C' cards and also two birthday cards for my friends grandsons - one football and the other kick boxing.

I am off to the knitting/sewing group this morning, these last few weeks there has only been about 5 of us, most of the others go back to the UK because they can't stand the heat of the summer. Today it will take me 10 mins to drive there but about 45 mins to get back home because at 9.30 the holiday makers are still in bed  but by 12.30 they are all out on the roads. We only have one road through Mojacar that is along the coast and everyone is looking for somewhere to park to go down to the beach. At least there are no parking charges here - yet!

Another week gone they say you are getting old when the weeks fly by. As you can see from the photos below I am still in the C mode of card making. I have about 50 ready for the September meeting of our Dames in Spain. If last year is anything to go by that won't be enough. I have been trying to use all bits and pieces that I have. Still have all the Christmas stamps that I got from the charity shop to try out.

You may see lots of double sided tape on the desk, that is because I went to the dentist on Tuesday (lost a filling eating peanut brittle ice cream) and a new chinese shop has opened in the same block so had to go and have a look. I have cleared my local shop of tape and he said he wouldn't have any more til after the summer.

 Couldn't resist this of Barney he stood there when I took the photo of my desk and seemed to say 'what about me'. This weather he sits under the desk in front of two fans I have on. We are still experiencing highs of 30+C but it does feel a little cooler in the night.

Good morning all, I know you are now suffering with the heat in the UK but here it is unbearable. My fans are running, the curtains are closed and doors wide open which doesn't help crafting light but when needs must. The air con is reserved for evening and night time.

                

 So my desk for today, yes those dreaded 'C' cards, well thought it would help me cool down. Like most of us I only need a small area to work.

I received these last week via a friend's friend in the UK who was travelling back to Mojacar. I had no idea (well a little) what they were for, but thanks to Shaz and Sarah for their knowledge I now know. Haven't used them yet as I think the cutter needs replacing.
Went on Amazon.es to purchase some gold & silver adhesive stickers after going through the pages and choosing, I get to the check out only to be told they can't be delivered to Spain. So why are they on the Spanish Amazon one might ask. My daughter has now order them from Amazon UK and is having them sent direct to me. Sorry but can't understand the logic.

Had a trip to the hospital last Friday to have a mole removed from the side of my face so I am now supporting with the help of my specs arm a big white plaster. The doctor didn't think it was anything to worry about. The hospital is about 55km inland and when we got out of the car the heat was terrible, it is always roughly another 5 degrees warmer inland and 5 decrees colder in winter. The blessings of living on the coast although there are no other blessings during July and August everywhere is packed with holiday makers, nowhere to park, loud villa rentals, and slow restaurant  service. It's a good excuse to stay in and craft and that's what I will be doing this next week.

Good morning from a still very hot Mojacar. Hence nothing much to show this week.

Remember the Cross in your Pocket well I had a call for some more, so while watching the Mens singles tennis final I made these. It's not many but the match was too exciting.

 Have also made a few more cards this week but nothing to show.

This funny made me laugh.

That is me short and sweet this week, I am off to my knit and natter group, although I am not knitting much this weather, will probably take some more crosses to do. There was only about 6 of us last week, most of our members go back to the UK for the summer and for others it was just too hot to venture out.

Another very hot week here in Spain so not too much activity.
This is my desk today (well Tuesday night actually).

I am planning 'C' items for my stalls in November. One can never start too early.
I have an idea for Christmas Owls along with an owl poem I found online. So what you see are some owl templates I have cut out, (save all cereal boxes for making templates), can't decide which to use yet, on the left is the felt I purchased today. a 40 x 60 piece for 75c.

Trying to replace cards I have sold seems to be an unending task. People tend to buy 3 at a time. don't think I will ever  build up a big stock.

Well this week has been hot, hot, hot. A couple of photos showing just how hot.

 This was on my Kindle and is the area of Mojacar where I live.

 And this one was taken from fb and is the temperature in the city of Almeria - glad I wasn't there.

So with all this heat not much crafting has been done,
I have managed a few cards but having two fans blowing, papers go everywhere.
Thought I would try some colouring in prep for C cards as I find it relaxing.
So my desk last night, love my water pencils as I can achieve shadowy effects. Lots of cutters and score boards some of which I have inherited from people here who have given up on card making.

525 is that correct? How the weeks are flying by, they say it is a sign of old age.

This is our weather warning for today so I think it is going  to be a hot one also the UV is forecast at a very high 11. I cringe when I see the lobster holidaymakers walking around.

 So to my desk someone asked me for a man card so this was the result and not to waste left over bits I made a smaller one with gardening tools in the pocket.
My left over bits of card box has overflowed and that also needs a bigger box. Hate throwing bits away.

The desk contains the normal bits and pieces. I am thinking of starting on the dreaded 'C' cards this week it helps when the weather is so hot!
Off now to Knit and Natter group only about six of us last week, many of our members go back to family in the UK for the summer - can't stand the heat. Some of us have to grin and bear it, not really you just change into summer mode and do jobs etc accordingly.

Another week gone by don't think my feet have touched the ground. Talking of ground this blog links up with Julia at http://stamping-ground.blogspot.com/ where we all display our workdesks on Wednesdays.

Well to be truthful this week mine is Tuesday as won't have time in the morning for photographing and writing.

Not very exciting but all the equipment is there.

Now this second photograph is more exciting. I work in our local cancer charity shop when needed although owing to health reasons haven't been there for a few weeks. My friend said they had a large number of rubber stamps donated and was I interested, you bet I said and this is it, stamps, punches, cutters and rulers. Most of the stamps are Christmas themed but hey ho Christmas is just around the corner.

So I leave you with two photographs of the full moon appearing through the clouds this week.

Hello friends, Gosh this is a busy week, just when I should be slowing down for the heat of the summer.

Firstly my live-in friend has his family here from the Czech Rep. although they are staying in an hotel, you still feel as you have to be with them. It is hard work for me because they only speak Czech no English or Spanish. 

Heard about a new Chinese shop that had opened in the next village so had to go and explore. These are just a few goodies I purchased. Most of my embellishments etc come from our vast array of Chinese shops. The flowery headbands (1€) I cut the flowers off and use for decoration. 

 Wonder if anyone else is finding this happening? Last week I had to go and buy bigger plastic boxes that I store my different card, papers, etc. in. The reason I seem to be accumulating more stock. Mustn't be working fast enough that's all I can say as I am sure I haven't purchased any for ages.

Below are two snoods/cowls I knitted while watching tv in the evening. Thought the white one was a little short so the green in a little longer. Only takes one ball of chunky wool.

Must away I have a doctors appointment and then on to sewing group this morning.

Good morning ladies short and sweet this week as on mobile my computer gave up on me. This is my desk been a hive of activity. Fingers to fat for typing on a mobile. Hope you all had good time last weekend,will get round to reading all about it. Ani

WOYWW 520 10th Anniversary

Good morning all on this special anniversary and  congratulations to Julia http://stamping-ground.blogspot.com/ who keeps us all in order.

Yes I am back and recovering slowly from my daughters wedding in Crete. Although I say it myself she looked absolutely beautiful and so happy. Their wedding theme was travel hence the cake, the favours were little suitcases, menus in passport holders, place names luggage labels etc. Even hangover bags containing coffee, rennies, mints, paracetamol (there were a few who needed them I can tell you. 

This was the finished horseshoe with a difference I made them and it was greatly admired.

Now to my desk which is slowly becoming its usual untidy state, I came home to requests for a few special birthday cards so back to work. This is beginning of a seventieth one when inspiration strikes. The card on the left is a mixture of pattern and plain card I sometimes get on offer at our local Lidl.

Will try and visit all but Wednesdays are a little hectic for me so maybe later in the week. Have a good day.

Good morning ladies, hope you all had a good Easter. Unfortunately here in Mojacar Easter was something of a washout. Yes rain and windy so didn't set foot outside the house, don't even know if the parades took place.
But I awake this morning to the sun (must be back from his Easter break in the UK) so possibly all the rain is now gone until after the summer. I never complain when it rains as we need rain here.

Now to my desk busy, busy, busy. The first is my computer table and the second the main table I work on. Swivelling between the two on my chair.

 This is the working desk glueing, sticking  etc. No room for the cat she was very put out. The playing cards are from a charity shop, someone wanted a card for a bridge player. I work in a local charity shop one day a week and am always on the look out for old games jigsaws etc that I can use. Needs must when you can't just drop into Hobbycraft or similar.

 The paper table each of the boxes contains paper, card, patterned paper etc. One box contains ribbons, tapes. The bag I won in a raffle thought it would be great for travelling with but with only taking a hand luggage case can't take it now.

Only another week until I jet off to Crete for my daughter's wedding, this next week is a week of pampering for me. Need all the treatment I can get.

Good morning from a warm and sunny day Mojacar. The weather has been great but forecast not so good for the Easter parades etc.

Now to my desk/table the reason we are here. As you can see I am now back in card making mode. This was my table last night after nearly a week of work. Note the dog he loves to stand on the stairs and look out of the window. The black dangly thing on the right is my personal alarm I receive so many phone calls from people pretending to be Microsoft that now they get a blast from this. 

On Monday a friend who has given up card making gave me an enormous carrier bag full of all sorts of goodies, from stickers, paper, card to heat gun, punches and cutters. It was like Christmas going through them all.

This is my amaryllis, this year only 4 flowers but someone who should be nameless cut all the leaves off earlier on in the year so I am lucky to have the flowers.

The Easter crowds are gathering fast as here in Spain the big religious parades start on Thursday. The photos below are from a previous year not easy getting the Virgin Mary out of church and even more difficult manoeuvring through the narrow streets of the village.
